Tyrant Season 3: Chris Noth Joins as Series Regular

Chris Noth will not have any down time after The Good Wife ends.

Noth, who currently stars on the CBS drama as the "husband," Peter Florrick, of the titular wife, will be joining Tyrant Season 3 as a series regular.

Noth's Tyrant role will be as William Cogswell, an American general who was summarily transferred out of Abbudin and returns to that country when Bassam "Barry" Al-Fayeed assumes the provisional presidency.

Although initially offers American support, Gen. Cogswell will rise to power as his romantic history with Leila reignites, and as his apparent (and hidden) idiosyncrasies are revealed.

Tyrant follows an unassuming American family who is drawn into the turbulent drama of the Middle East when a self-exiled younger son of a dictator of a war-torn country returns to his homeland. The resulting clash of cultures is featured as he is thrown back into familial and political disputes due to his homecoming.

Noth previously starred on NBC's Law & Order and as Mr. Big on HBO's Sex & the City.
