Jon Snow is dead.

On Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 1, we finally got the answer to the question that has plagued everyone on the planet's mind for the past year.

For now, he's dead, and I'm actually okay with that. Far too many shows have had fake deaths recently, and they're pretty exhausting.

There's no way that Jon's storyline is over yet, but there seems to be a chance that we won't see Kit Harington play the character again.

All of the drama at Castle Black was very interesting, but I can't be the only one who expected a lot more. We waited all this time for some sort of answer, but instead we got another huge question.

We know that Melisandre is the Red Priestess, but we're not privy to the nuts and bolts of what that actually entails. Is there a possibility she could somehow bring Jon Snow back into the land of the living?

I'm going to go with yes, considering the Red Priest is making a return to the show at some point in Game of Thrones Season 6.

Still, what even was that at the close of the hour? That's one of the more pressing questions coming out of the premiere.

If you're a fan of the books, apparently they've been planting the seeds for something like this to happen for some time.

In the books, she has the ability to "glamor" people. How very True Blood of you, Game of Thrones!

There's no denying that it was an intriguing twist, but it better have gotten us closer to bringing Jon Snow back.

Elsewhere, Khaleesi was having a terrible time with the Dothrakis. If it wasn't bad enough that she was apart from the people who can keep her safe, she now has to spend an eternity hanging out with other widows of Khal.

Khaleesi is not a woman who can just sit around and get everything done for her, so she's going to try and find a way to escape. That's probably what will keep her captive longer.

We don't quite know what the Dothraki's long-term significance will be to this story, but it seems like Khaleesi will be awaiting the return of Drogon, or she's going to find herself dead.

Meanwhile, Cersei's week from hell continued; she's officially on the warpath. I can't be the only one who felt somewhat sorry for her when her excitement to see her daughter turned into sorrow.

Remember the witch on Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 1? It seems like she wasn't as crazy as we first thought.

Cersei is fated to lose three children, two of whom are already gone... so how can things get any worse for this former Queen?

Right now, it seems like she and Jaime have a great chance of going after their enemies. They have a great, big army that they can take to war whenever they please.

Cersei also has The Mountain under her belt, too.

The fact of the matter is that both Cersei and Jaime are out for blood, and they're going to get it. They do have a little too many enemies, but that won't stop them from trying their hand to get some results.

First on their list will probably be Ellaria Sand, who has just become a force to be reckoned with. Who even thought that was possible?

It seemed like it was really going to be a waiting game until word got back to Doran that she killed poor Myrcella, but that wasn't the case. She and her band of crazy daughters continued to seek revenge for the death of Oberyn.

I have to hand it to them, this was a great development, and it showed that all of the tedious Dorne storylines in Game of Thrones Season 5 actually meant something in the grand scheme of things.

With that out of the way, we can speak about Sansa and Theon. Their storyline took an interesting turn with Brienne showing up to save the day.

Maybe if Sansa had let her serve her before, she wouldn't be in this mess, right? Poor Sansa has a penchant for getting herself into trouble, and she was in a lot of that as she tried to outrun Ramsey's men.

We got confirmation that Ramsey has a heart. That came when his bit on the side's body was right next to him, and it made for a powerful scene.

He obviously wants to be seen as this person who has no emotions, and that's probably why he sent her body to the hounds.

I guess he was thinking that if he can't have her, neither can the ground.

"The Red Woman" was a decent opener to Game of Thrones Season 6. It didn't answer the questions left up in the air after last year, but it has us set on what's sure to be a crazy tale of revenge and I can't wait to see how all of that plays out.

Other tidbits from the episode:

The drama in Meereen seems like it's about to boil over. Someone was definitely watching Tyrion when he was talking to Varys about The Sons of the Harpie. Without a Queen to rule the citizens, the people in the gold masks will be free to roam the streets and do whatever they please.
Tyrion's one-liners were back and as spectacular as ever.
There wasn't nearly enough Arya. She's blind for now, but what does she have to do to get back in the The House of the Black and White's good graces? Her fight scene was pretty brutal, but why do I get the feeling that they're not punishing her?
Considering the hype surrounding the return of Bran, we didn't even get to lay eyes on him. They best make up for it next week!
The little scene with Margaery was a treat. The woman who publicly shamed Cersei will probably be doing the same to Margaery soon. At least she and Cersei will finally have a common enemy!
