Awkward Season 5 Episode 22 Review: Home Again, Home Again

at .  Updated at .

Jenna and Matty have got to be the most unappealing couple on television.

Yes, Awkward Season 5 Episode 22 got us one step closer to the finish line, but it also continued to lay the groundwork for a reunion between the couple who have been at the core of the show since the beginning.

Camp Pookah - Awkward

The thing is, I really don't give a damn about them as a couple. I'd love to hear about what y'all think because I'm just not feeling Jatty any more.

I'm over the back and forth between them.

It's time to cut it out and let these two stay apart. That would be the most natural conclusion now for the series.

I'm not a fan of the writers buttering Luke up to be the best thing since sliced bread and then turning him into an ass in the hopes that us at home will discount him and be okay with Jenna running back to Matty.

I'm totally okay with Jatty being friends, but I just can't handle anything more than that.

It's time everyone realized that this relationship reached a natural conclusion when they called it quits last time.

There is such a thing as a toxic relationship you know!

Now let's have a chat about Luke. His character may have been butchered right in front of our very eyes, but he's not getting off with the way he acted.

He should NOT be leading his boss on. That's totally not okay and it must be causing some serious trust issues with Jenna.

No woman in their right mind is going to stick with him knowing that he'd flirt with his boss for the opportunity of a better job.

Get out now, Jenna. Don't let his offers of a new, better education cloud your judgment. You know he's not a keeper when Sadie has a better moral compass than him.

Speaking of Sadie. Her storyline with Sergio is freaking awful. As if he wouldn't have told her about the investors popping by.

You're kind of meant to tell your significant other about your life.

I sure hope the younger generation ain't watching this show and think this is how relationships are meant to function.

They're not. I don't give a shit about Sergio and Sadie anymore.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you're a fucking moron.

Sadie

Why?

The writers. I'm blaming the writers about everything that's been wrong with this show over the past year. Tamara's storyline isn't much better. Like, what is the point in having her ex-boyfriend pop back up?

Might it be to bring them together before the series concludes? Which brings me back to the notion that not everyone should be together.

Tamara can't seem to tell the truth, so what would anyone really see in her? Her sense of humor is great and all, but trust is another big thing.

The only character who is actually staying true to the one we met way back on Awkward Season 1 is Lissa. She continues to be the funniest person on television and Greer Grammer is fantastic in the role.

Her whole exercise video made me laugh so much that it always made me forget about the tripe I've been watching this year.

That said, we're just one week away from the end of the show and I hope for a logical conclusion for the fans that still like it.

"Home Again, Home Again" was a mediocre installment. It's time to stick a fork in this one!
