Legends of Tomorrow Season 2: Vixen Jumping Aboard the Waverider!

at .  Updated at .

It's always been the plan for characters to rotate on and off the Waverider on Legends of Tomorrow.

On DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 1 Episode 16, Hawkgirl decided not to continue with the team. That was after losing Leonard Snart shortly before and Hawkman much earlier.

The speculation began of who might jump on board next.

Vixen! - Arrow

My number one pick, given characters already in the 'verse, was Vixen.

She's been in a CW Seed animated program, played by Megalyn E.K., and then the actress joined the live action world in the same capacity when Mari McCabe (who has the Vixen powers) visited Star City on Arrow.

Vixen will be joining the team on DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 2!! It's not very often my wishes are granted, so that's pretty cool.

Except it's not the Vixen we've come to know (in the very short time she was available), according to TV Insider.

It turns out Megalyn E.K. cannot commit to a series at this time because of other projects with which she's involved.

But fear not, because Mari McCabe will NOT be recast, either. That's right, the Vixen we know will remain the Vixen we love.

Megalyn E.K. will continue to voice the CW Seed series animated version of the Vixen character, and when scheduling permits, she might even pop into the 'verse for a guest-starring role on one of the DC series.

The Vixen who will be coming aboard the Waverider will be an earlier incarnation of the Vixen mythology.

As someone who didn't read the comics, I was unaware that Vixen had earlier incarnations, but since she only needs a totem to gain her powers, we can assume each Vixen has come with different totems used the same totem to gain their power.

I did a little bit of research, and Vixen is a relatively new DC character. I can't find a history on past Vixens. If you know of who she might be from the past, drop me a line in the comments.

It's possible she'll be a new character written just for the show. That could always happen, right? After all, Geoff Johns is attached to all of these projects, and it's his world now!

Of course, you KNOW how this is going to happen, right?

Rip Hunter is going to head back to another time to gather up his Vixen. How he'll choose where to find her or in what time will be part of the fun. I hope.

This new Vixen may or may not have a connection to Mari McCabe. I'm not sure it matters at this time, as long as the two meet some time in the future.

So, while wishes to come true, you can't always get what you want. Sometimes you get what you need. Apparently, we need two Vixens, one of which who will be taking up residence on the Waverider.

How does this news sit with you? In a good news/bad news combination twist, does the good outweigh the bad? Share your thoughts!!
