From Dusk Till Dawn Season 3 Episode 8 Review: Rio Sangre

Can someone please explain to me why Carlos is back??

On From Dusk Till Dawn Season 3 Episode 8, Kisa returns, and for some reason, she revived Carlos. I'm sorry, why did she choose to bring back her abuser? I seemed to have missed that explanation.

I expected a damn good reason whenever I saw what Kisa was up to. Instead, it's like she brought him back on the off chance that he could be useful. Nope, that doesn't work for me.

Kisa - From Dusk Till Dawn

Yes, Carlos was useful. He found out where Lord Venganza was hiding out, but Kisa had no idea that Carlos knew how to locate Venganza. Kisa just got lucky that all of her work digging up the remains of Carlos wasn't a waste of time.

Kisa told Seth that she was back because she was still angry, and she wanted to join the fight. That's a great answer as to why she came back, but that's not an answer as to why she came back with Carlos.

Considering everything that Carlos has done, there needed to be a very specific reason for his return. I'm talking like the team had exhausted all possible options, and they realized that Carlos was the only one in the entire world who could help them out.

Seriously, take a minute to reflect on all the shit Carlos has done to everyone. He abused Kisa for how many centuries? He killed Kate. He has proven time and time again that he's only out for himself and will betray anyone.

Seeing as how Kisa was the one who brought him back, I expected her to the best explanation of them all. Instead, we didn't get an answer, so it comes across like Kisa brought back her abuser on a whim.

It just does not make sense, especially seeing how much Kisa fought against him and the people who imprisoned her. Did this bother anyone else?

Bringing back a character could be a fun surprise, but that was definitely not the case here. Carlos' return was not enjoyable, and in fact, it was infuriating.

Now, let's talk about Kisa!

While I didn't enjoy her storyline on From Dusk Till Dawn Season 3 Episode 2 all that much because it was not fully developed, that is not the case this time.

Her return is handled beautifully, and her motives for running and coming back make sense. Did anyone else love that she opened up to Seth of all people about this? These two can't stand each other, but Kisa learned something from him.

Kisa: When Manola died, I ran. I ran. I was pissed. I had things to figure out, and I kept thinking about you.
Seth: What?
Kisa: How you got the shit beat out of you in that ring. How you kept on fighting for us, for the culebas.
Seth: The enemy of my enemy and all that shit.
Kisa: Well, I'm not going to let you have all the fun taking them down.

I'm so glad that Kisa has realized and accepted that her place in this world is to fight for her people. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her as the season wraps up. We need more badass female characters that, you know, don't get killed off, so I'm thrilled to have La Diosa back.

Are you glad that Kisa is back? Who do you want her to have scenes with? I would love to see more of her with Richie and maybe even Scott.

Jailhouse Riot Season 3 Episode 8

At the end of Season 1, did you ever think you'd see the day where Seth allowed a culebra to feed off of him? Talk about character development.

Ever since he learned they existed, Seth Gecko has hated culebras. It didn't matter if Richie was only alive because of them. Once Richie turned, Seth left and turned his back on his brother.

Seth has mended his relationship with Richie, but there is still tension between them, especially on the culebra subject. This is clear in From Dusk Till Dawn Season 3 Episode 1 when Seth pushed away a drink Richie made once he learned that Richie learned how to make it because he drank blood from a bartender.

Seth has been fighting alongside culebras for the safety of culebras since Amaru showed up. And now, he allowed Kisa to feed off of him because he knew that the only way they were getting out of a prison was with Kisa at full strength.

Seth showed that he trusts Kisa by offering up his blood. Seth still has a long way to go before he's fully accepting of culebras, but this is a huge moment for him. We should probably get him a cake or something.

What did you think of the episode? Is Freddie making the right move? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
