The Originals Round Table: How Long Will Freelin Last?

at .

How long will it be before Keelin dies?

That thought weighs heavy on our minds after Freelin became a thing on The Originals Season 4 Episode 7

Below, TV Fanatics Mandy Treccia, Justin Carreiro and Paul Dailly discuss Hope meeting Marcel, all things Freelin and Elijah's motives.

How did you feel about Hope letting Marcel out of captivity?

Mandy: The Hope and Marcel scenes were my favorite parts of the episode. I'm so happy Marcel admitted he still loves Klaus. As twisted as it is, they are family. And I'm happy Hope trusted him to keep her safe. I love that Marcel borrowed from Klaus' playbook with the whole "close your eyes and sing" while he murdered bad guys.

Justin: I liked their scenes together. Though, the opening poem that Hope sang creeped me out. In a way, Hope and Marcel are like siblings. I liked seeing them together and finding this connection.

Paul: I loved this twist. Like, who would have thought Hope would have been the one to do such a thing? I'm interested to see how Klaus reacts to Hope's friendship with Marcel.

Official? - The Originals Season 4 Episode 7

Freelin is a thing. React!

Mandy: I'm still so torn on this relationship. The chemistry's improved. I like the idea of the two together. But I'm not sure the buildup makes a lot of sense. Keelin might be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. I wish we could see more of these two falling for each other.

Justin: This relationship is growing on me. Freya is one of my favorite characters, so it's nice to see her find some happiness. However, as I've mentioned in past round tables, I'm pretty sure Keelin will die soon.

Paul: I noticed the chemistry between these two from the get-go, so I was glad. However, I do agree with Justin that Keelin will probably go the way of the flip phone soon.

Elijah In Trouble? - The Originals Season 4 Episode 7

Is Elijah acting like Klaus so Klaus, does not need to do the bad things this time around?

Mandy: I think that's the implication. But I do not like it. I hate that he hurt those kids. A lot of this goes against what we've seen from Elijah in the past. And doing it to spare Klaus is not a good enough explanation for the character inconsistencies.

Justin: Elijah is a bit of a hypocrite. He talks a big game about honor and family, but he constantly bends that rule to do harm against others. It's not his job to do bad so that it's not Klaus. Evil is still evil

Paul: I think so. This season has been very different from the days of Klaus going crazy and killing people off without a second thought.

What did you think of that final scene with The Hollow taking over Sofya?

Mandy: She had the crescent birthmark! That's all I could think about during the scene. How is she connected to Hayley's pack? Can a werewolf be a witch? I'm curious to see where this goes. Sofya was already a threat. Now I'm sure she will kill someone with her thorn bush.

Justin: I'm on the same page as Mandy - I couldn't take my eyes off the birthmark. There's more to this story, and it's definitely connected to Hayley/Hope. The Hollow is going to go after them and use Sofya as the means to do so. Also, I think this might foreshadow Sofya's death.

Paul: I'm on the fence. I like Sofya, but her whole reasons for being in town get to me. I'm over these revenge plots. I hope something big happens next week that breaks her plot away from looking for revenge.

What are your hopes for Alaric showing up next week?

Mandy: I'm so excited. I miss The Vampire Diaries, so it'll be nice to have a little piece of the show back. And considering how much Alaric dislikes the Mikaelson family, I'm expecting a lot of attitude and sass. Plus, I'm sure he'll tell them about the school.

Justin: I agree with Mandy. It's nice to see a little bit of The Vampire Diaries back again. I think he'll give some updates about a few of the characters and hopefully tease a few returns. (Maybe Caroline?!)

Paul: I want intel on what the heck is going on at Salvatore Boarding House. I want to to know what EVERYONE is up to. Yes, I can dream.

Hope: Dad, was there a little boy who used to live here?
Klaus: Come on, sweetheart. We can discuss ancient history another time.

It's not exactly the most uplifting of reading material.
