With the bizarre casting news coming from CBS of late, we're surprised to report that one of the most notorious villains in the history of Criminal Minds will be staging a comeback.

According to TV Line, Jamie Kennedy has been tapped to reprise his role as serial killer Floyd Feylinn Ferell.

If you watch Criminal Minds online, you will know that Kennedy previously played the cannibalistic killer on Criminal Minds Season 3.

“It’s going to be so much fun,” showrunner Erica Messer revealed to TVLine at CBS’ summer press tour party.

“It’s going to dredge up a lot of reminders for the team and the struggles that people had with faith in that episode.”

Kennedy's original appearance occurred in the episode that Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) got shot "so she’s going to deal with a reminder of that time in her life.”

James turned in a solid performance as the deranged killer back in 2007, so it should be exciting to find out what's changed over the last ten years.

Will he be as murderous as ever? Will he have changed his ways?

We're excited to find out.

Things could have been a whole lot different for the storyline because Vangsness and A. J. Cook were poised to exit the show if they did not receive salary parity with their co-stars.

Thankfully, new deals were reached, but Damon Gupton was let go in the midst of the negotiations.

The casting on the show has been a hot topic over the years because of the way a lot of the stars have left.

Thomas Gibson departed last year after it was revealed that he had an altercation on-set with someone from production. Then there was the whole firing of A. J. Cook.
