Sara Ramirez may have left Grey's Anatomy behind, but we now know which show she will follow up the ABC juggernaut with.

The actress has been signed as a series regular on Madam Secretary, and her first installment is slated to air on Sunday, November 19 at 10/9c.

Sara Ramirez On Madam Secretary

She will portray Kat Sandoval who the official character description describes as “a brilliant political strategist, legendary in D.C. for her talent and for abruptly dropping out of politics until Elizabeth manages to coax her back into the State Department.”

“We’re very excited that Sara is joining the cast,” Barbara Hall, executive Producer, and series creator, said via statement.

“She brings a fresh perspective and a fun, energetic quality to the State Department staff.”

“We are thrilled to have Sara join the Madam Secretary State Department team, said Executive Producer, Lori McCreary added in a statement.

"From the moment she walked on set with her talent, intellect and spirit, she became part of the family!”

Sara Ramirez as Dr. Callie Torres

Yes, the character sounds like the complete opposite of Dr. Callie Torres, who Ramirez played for ten years until 2016. If you watch Grey's Anatomy online, you will know that the door was left open for Callie to return.

“I’m deeply grateful to have spent the last 10 years with my family at Grey’s Anatomy and ABC, but for now, I’m taking some welcome time off,” the actress said shortly after her final episode aired.

Madam Secretary shocked audiences on Sunday when original series regular Bebe Neuwirth bid adieu to the series in a shocking episode that found her character quitting her job in favor of moving closer to her family.

The actress confirmed the news on Twitter shortly after the episode aired.

Bebe Neuwirth Attends Event

"So grateful for my time @MadamSecretary - a wonderful show where I love the cast, crew, background artists. #lifelongfriends," she wrote.

"So grateful to @CBS for accepting my request to depart @MadamSecretary and writing a beautiful exit for me."
