Love is in the air, or whatever.

Meredith's voiceover spoke about time being a construct and losing track of it, and it was a fitting statement since Grey's Anatomy Season 15 Episode 12 had an unusual time sequence.

Hey, we'll go with it.

Through Natasha's case, we were able to track the time. Meredith gave Glasses, I mean Levi a warning about how you tend to go a bit stir-crazy and lose sight of time while working the ICU.

Natascha's medical case was sad. The woman had been in a coma for a few months, and when she woke, it seemed as though things would be looking up for her, but her health continued to decline.

Through it all, she had one of the most devoted partners ever. Garrett didn't think he could breathe without her. He wanted to die if she died too. That's a powerful kind of love.

Jo: You are in a love triangle.
Meredith: There is no love. There is no triangle.

Even a woman in a coma knew that Meredith was in a love triangle, and it's still hilarious that they called it a love triangle at all because this entire time, one of the guys never stood a chance.

I don't care for love triangles. I find them irritating and overused. Think about it, when is the last time you've ever been in a love triangle? I'll wait.

But it's a byproduct of enjoying media, just like 'ships, which more often than not I can take or leave too. I have some controversial and ambivalent opinions about all of your favorite 'ships, but unless they're particularly annoying or offputting, I tend to roll with most of them.

But the frustrating part of this "love triangle" is that there was no back and forth. It was evident who would come out on top before the thing began. Are love triangles any fun if from the beginning one of the members was nothing more than a plot device or contrivance?

As someone who gravitates towards underdogs and lives for being contrary out of spite, leaning more towards Link became a thing just because, well, why the hell not?

Natascha's advice to Meredith was to kiss the person who would turn back time for her. From that moment, we could surmise that Meredith would be kissing DeLuca by the end of the hour, and congratulations you MerLuca 'shippers! You got yourselves a swoon-worthy moment for your 'ship.

With time comes a change in perspective. Many of us can recall the outrage when Giacomo Gianniotti joined the series so close after Derek's death. He was called the New McDreamy, and everyone lost their collective minds. Fast forward to now, and people happily welcome him as McDreamy 2.0.

Fair enough. DeLuca is my heart, and I'm a fan, so that's fine, but his behavior throughout the hour was irritating. Confident DeLuca is awesome, but the entitled DeLuca has been super cringy.

He had every right to be annoyed that Meredith stood him up, but his dogged pursuit of Meredith under the guise of knowing that she wants him and she's just fighting it has been a lot to deal with over time. He speaks about her as if he knows her so well, and there isn't enough there to support that despite them building up their relationship.

Meredith has valid reasons for maybe not wanting to date a co-worker and subordinate right now, but according to DeLuca, those are excuses that she's using to run away from love. Um, what?!

We spent the past couple of seasons building up to Meredith being open to love again, so DeLuca waxing poetic about her running away from love (with him) feels off.

Many people love this 'ship, and I respect that. They have some hot moments, and a girl will never turn down more sexy DeLuca time, but for those of us who aren't sold on it or have our reservations, there are a few sticklers that haven't hit the mark yet, so they stand out.

DeLuca's determination to spend one-on-one time with a mother of three on Christmas Eve was a stickler. He knows that she has children, but the guy gets so swept away in wanting to win Meredith that he often comes across as though he forgets that or doesn't put too much thought into it.

DeLuca: Hey, can I ask you a question?
Meredith: Yeah.
DeLuca: How can you stand there and tell Garrett to fight for love when you won't even fight for it?
Meredith: What?
DeLuca: Nothing, I used to think you were so beyond me, but you're not. You're like a kid. Playing hide and seek, hiding behind excuses.

There is this disconnect with DeLuca seeing Meredith the woman and doctor but not seeing her as the mother and widow.

That brings me to that scene where Meredith was comforting Garrett. The poor guy loved his girlfriend so much that he would rather die than live without her. Meredith understood that sentiment all too well.

It was a powerful scene between the two of them as she urged him to fight, and it was such a personal, vulnerable moment for Meredith.

However, instead of taking a moment to consider everything behind what Meredith said and how it related to her late husband, DeLuca chose to use her words against her to psychoanalyze her and chastise her for not going forward with him. Somehow, he made that all about him.

She's not fighting for love, according to him, but when did love ever enter the equation?

Then there is the gross way that both he and Meredith used Link as a pawn. Link and Mer don't have to be a thing, hell if I care, but the more we learn about Link, the more we discover that he's a decent guy. Say what you will about Link, but he hasn't been playing games here.

He's too chill for that. Honestly, he deserves better.

Meredith: I'm supposed to be on a date.
DeLuca: You already are.

So the DeLuca who wanted to beat Link to a one-on-one date with Meredith, or referred to him as a doormat because, ironically, he had the good sense to stop pressuring Meredith into going out with him.

The DeLuca who assumed that Link or anyone else was a non-option, or was pissed about being stood up but didn't mind intervening so that someone else could be stood up, is not a likable Deluca.

There's going after what you want, and there's getting carried away and being a dick about it. DeLuca was in full-blown dick territory.

But in the end, he planned a romantic Valentine's day date on the roof of the hospital to distract Meredith from the loss of her patient.

They had their highly-anticipated kiss, but sadly, it was hard to enjoy by that point.

The love triangle between Teddy, Amelia, and Owen is still going strong it seems. Owen and Amelia had a bit of a setback when Owen in a fit of fear and anger over possibly losing Leo and being lied to by Betty Brittany, revealed that after his years of being involved with an addict, he still doesn't understand the disease.

That was concerning, and Amelia had every right to leave the house after his insensitive and ignorant outburst.

Owen: Yes, I know addiction is a disease, but since when do its symptoms include lying and stealing to people trying to help you? It just all feels like an excuse to justify piss poor life decisions. Wait, where are you going?
Amelia: To Meredith's.
Owen: Why?
Amelia: I don't know, piss poor life decisions.

Owen is afraid that he will lose Leo with this latest development with Betty, I mean Brittany. He's not thinking about what it means to Amelia losing this young woman who she has taken in, minus the red tape, like a daughter.

Not Betty's revelation was shocking. She does have parents, and they are probably looking for her, but they don't know that she has a child now. She's been lying about who she is this entire time. I don't even know how to react to all of this.

The Shepherd-Hunt familial unit has been one of the best parts about the season, and the thought of losing that is more difficult than imagined. Brittany has been going through the motions in rehab, and it seems like she's more aware than ever that she needs to do the right thing, so she was pulling away from Amelia.

Heartbreak is on the horizon with this. Owen is also still grappling with his jumbled up feelings for Teddy. They were both in the full-parent mode when they were looking at the sonogram. Thank God, Teddy's pregnancy has progressed better than Delilah on A Million Little Things.

There was something there between them when they were in that room together, but it was there when they were outside enjoying the snow together. Did you flashback to their romantic, post-coitus snuggle-fest in Germany while it was snowing, too?

Teddy was rubbing her belly, and there was very little stopping Owen from stepping over and rubbing her belly too. Owen is still torn up and confused, but he's having a hard time with this brewing relationship between Tom and Teddy.

Tom and Teddy are adorable. Tom is the best.

I genuinely like this 'ship, and it could be something beneficial for both of them. 

The Levi and Nico romance is the best, too. It was adorable how everyone acknowledged that Levi has improved and is more confident. It was even cuter that he was proud to say that it was because of his relationship with Nico.

For the first time in his life, he feels complete and happy. Their couple bliss was infectious and sweet. For a romance that tends to be playing in the background, they're adorable.

But Ben may steal the hour for the most romantic because he built Miranda that treehouse! The relationship sabbatical between Ben and Bailey was annoying as all hell, and Ben had every right to be hurt by the whole thing.

It was good to see his face again while we await the return of Station 19. Miranda was doing what she could to reach out to him and get him to come back home and get their relationship on track, but Ben had to process how hurt he was.

If Miranda explained how her anxiety was rearing its ugly head earlier, we could have avoided so much of this! Their reunion is a relief, and the man built her a damn treehouse.

Ugh, Catherine's recovery process is brutal and heartwrenching. She was refusing help from anyone, but it didn't truly hit the heartbreaking level until she was doing well walking and then fell. Catherine in a heap on the floor sobbing is something I never want to see again in my life.

Miranda: You built me a treehouse!
Ben: Miranda, I need to know that this is something that you can't call time out on.
Miranda: Never. I promise you.

I choose to think about the Catherine who seduced her husband as they ran off to their bedroom together for sexytimes.

Jackson had a difficult time seeing his mother in that state, and his conversation with Maggie was so intimate and touching. Maggie is in a position where she understands what Jackson is going through, and she can guide him and support him through it.

When she mentioned that, for a fleeting moment, she wanted to die -- she wanted to cease existence when her mother was dying, it was shocking and tragic. The honesty at that moment was incredible because of how taboo it is to discuss things of that nature.

On the worst day of my mother's illness, I wanted to take her IV and plunge it into my arm. I wanted out, not just that day, but I wanted out of this life. It was a fleeting thought, but it came, and that's how bad the pain was, that's how bad the fear was.

Maggie[to Jackson]

It's hard to say if Maggie and Jackson resolved their issues, but they are on stable ground, for sure.

And if you want to talk about "couple goals," Alex and Jo are it. Somehow the Karevs have become that fun married couple who throw parties and like to entertain their guests.

Alex is behind that beautiful wedding ceremony for Garrett and Natascha. He's such a hopeless romantic it's laughable. Jo is deadset on being a matchmaker for Meredith.

The Karevs have lacked screentime together and on their own. They are riding that honeymoon phase hard, and it's adorable. Their happiness is contagious, and while it must mean an obstacle is on the way, let's bask in their happiness for the time being.
