Charmed (2018) Season 2 Episode 3 Review: Careful What You Witch For

at .

Safe Space has never felt so dangerous in Charmed (2018) Season 2 Episode 3!

Although the Overlord is supposedly dead, it seems the sisters are in more danger than ever before.

This has been the most exhilarating episode thus far. I was on the edge of my seat for the last 10 minutes of the show.

An Injured Witch - Charmed (2018)

I love that in the midst of the season-long story arc revolving around the mysterious assassin, the writers are allowing each sister to embark on their own personal journeys.

Maggie's relationship with Jordan continues to develop more substance with each episode. They have great chemistry, and I would be shocked if they don't end up dating.

We also learn this season that Jordan is 25 years old -- 5 years older than Maggie. Considering Maggie is mature for her age, the age difference doesn't bother me.

Maggie: Aren't you a little old to be applying for an assitant manager position?
Jordan: Aren't you a little young to be applying for an assistant manager position?
Maggie: Well I'm 20 if you must know.

I also love how Maggie was able to hold her own with Jordan, and I love that she finally aadmitted  she finds him charming and attractive.

Maggie is the epitome of a young millennial feminist. She didn't even let Jordan make her feel bad for being in a sorority.

Maggie with her phone - Charmed (2018) - Charmed (2018) Season 2 Episode 3

She is a reminder that feminism and femininity can co-exist, and feminine characteristics are not indicative of weakness.

Jordan, who we now know is in law school, is also a refreshing male love interest. In spite of their playful banter, he consistently acknowledges Maggie's strength and capability.

I've seen things, Jordan. Things that would make a grown man cry. Even a very grown one. Like you.

Maggie

Although I know Maggie needed to get the assistant manager job to keep her key card, I wish she would have thought of another solution.

Lying and manipulating people to get what you want is never the best way to go.

Mel, Maggie and Harry - Charmed (2018) - Charmed (2018) Season 2 Episode 3 - Charmed (2018)

It was clear that Jordan was the better candidate for the job. Something tells me that Maggie will do the right thing and give up her new position in the coming episodes.

I also wonder whether Maggie using magic for personal gain will come back to haunt her.

While the remake of the show does not focus as much on the consequences of using magic for personal gain as the OG season, I wouldn't be surprised if karma comes back to Maggie for getting her job unfairly.

Speaking of consequences, I can't wait to see what happens to the woman who works in the witch shop as a result of the tea ceremony with Mel and Harry.

Woman From the Witch Shop - Charmed (2018) Season 2 Episode 3

While Mel was able to pass the Elders' test, the poor woman in the witch shop seems like she will continue to have flashbacks of the worms.

Whether or not the two end up in a romantic relationship, I think Mel will eventually end up telling her that she is a witch.

I'm sure she will take the news much better than most would.

Harry: Bu what if you're wrong?
Mel: But what if I'm right?

With help from the Sentinel, I'm confident that the sisters will be able to crack the code from the Book of the Elders and get their powers back.

I just hope they get their powers back before it's too late.

Mel and Harry With Crystals - Charmed (2018)

Like last week, Macy's storyline was the most enticing! For starters, I am worried that she is using her demon powers so much.

At the beginning of the episode, she was much snappier than usual with Mel.

In the past, these mood swings have been connected to her overly embracing her demon powers.

Since she is the only sister with powers at the moment, it makes sense that she has to use her demon powers to save innocents, but I predict that there will be a price to pay.

I am still convinced that Macy will give in to her dark side and form a relationship with evil Harry.

Now, let's talk about Abigail!

From the very beginning, I had a hard time trusting Abigail. She figured out too quickly that Macy was a Charmed one.

When Macy went to remove the blindfold from Abigails' face after bringing her back to their secret lair, I screamed at the TV not to trust her.

Of course, my warning was ignored, and Macy removed the blindfold anyway.

Macy and Abigail Run Away - Charmed (2018) - Charmed (2018) Season 2 Episode 3

I was shocked when the Book of the Elders sent Abigail flying across the room as it did to Macy. For me, that sealed the deal.

I do not believe that Abigail is half demon and half witch-like Macy. I think she is a full demon.

The final straw for me was when the Overlord said, "It's you, isn't it" to Abigail right before she and Macy vanquished him.

I trusted you the first time. I will not make that mistake again.

Macy

Whoever Abigail is, I think she's more dangerous than the Overlord and the assassin combined because of her innocent demeanor.

We also can't ignore the fact that when she went to hug Macy, she had a knife behind her back.

Macy and Abigail Stand Together - Charmed (2018) Season 2 Episode 3

Macy should have killed Abigail when she had the chance. She has a weak spot because of her insecurity about her demon side.

Macy is obsessing over killing innocents in order to over compensate for her deepest fear: that she is evil.

Abigail exploited Macy's weakness by making Macy feel like she's just like her.

I think for Macy, giving Abigail another chance symbolized Macy's desire to prove to herself that even someone with demon blood can be a good person.

Mel and Maggie are not likely to trust Abigail if they find out she is half-demon. This is sure to create an immediate rift between the sisters.

Macy is Learning Tall - Charmed (2018) Season 2 Episode 2 - Charmed (2018)

I predict that eventually, Macy will have to choose between trusting Abigail and siding with her sisters.

I'm thankful that the quest to find the Overlord did not last the whole season!

The writers are doing a great job moving the plot along while introducing just enough new plot twists.

Like always, I want to know what you thought about this week's episode!

Do you think Maggie will give up her new job for Jordan?

Should Macy give Abigail a second chance?
