Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) is a paper salesman at the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin. He is a good guy, and very intelligent albeit unmotivated. Throughout the four seasons of the show and counting, Jim spends most of his time pining for Pam Beesly and/or engineering pranks at the expense of office-mate Dwight Schrute.

Nurse: Oh, shouldn't be too bad, it's a slow day. So, no other radiation this year, no metal plates, no chance you're pregnant...
Pam: I'm sorry, can we just hurry this up? I've got a game to get back to.
Nurse: Oh good, because my next question was "do you have a game to get back to."
