Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders) is initially introduced as a potential love interest for Ted and his eventual girlfriend. However, after the break up and before they decide to date, Robin is a friend in the group.
Robin is a news anchor for Metro News 1 until she quits and becomes an anchor out in Japan. Once she quits that job and returns to New York she is currently unemployed.
Robin is from Canada where she used to play hockey growing up and even had a big pop song as a teenage stars. She also enjoys guns and cigars.
