Oh and one more thing.
I hated the Summer Nights cover.
It was less a tribute and more a rip off. It was poorly done
From the very beginning of this entire series I knew that Finn was going to have issues with deciding his future. I mean in seasons 1-3 he's had trouble deciding between girls, never mind what he wants to do with the rest of his life.
I personally hated his proposal to Rachel. Two engagements in one episode? That's too much. Also, high school engagements rarely work out, for Finn it was less an act of love but of desperation.
I also found it weird the extent of the Glee Club's involvement in Will's proposal to Emma. I get the number but having a say of what song he sings and Finn being the best man was just plain weird. Ring shopping with your student? Weird. Will needs friends...At least when Ken was around he had a buddy, sort of. Will needs a buddy.
Finn's dad's urn is in their house, it was shown in his favorite chair in the episode Carol started dating Burt. In the case of military deaths the family has a choice to bury their loved one in a military cemetery or make their own arrangements. It's up to the family.
As for Melody, I felt a bit sorry for her at the end of this episode. Her treatment of Bay is childish but she was devastated when Emmett announced that he was leaving her too. After all, she said all that crap to Bay to keep Emmett from being taken from her but in the end, he left because of her over protectiveness. Losing a husband and a son all within a couple of months must be tough, although, if she had toned down her attitude towards Bay, Emmett might not have felt angry enough to leave.
I felt it was really unfair of Kathryn to blame Bay for what Daphne did. It was completely Daphne's idea and Bay shouldn't have to shoulder any of blame, even she's known as the rebel. What Daphne did was wrong and desperate. She should have listened to Bay, who knows her parents well enough to that Daphne's plan was a bad idea. Daphne never listens to Bay and its going to bite her in the ass, over and over again.
But Daphne did grow quite a lot in this episode, letting go of Emmett was really good of her. Wilkie may be an idiot sometimes but his easy going attitude might help Daphne relax a bit.
I don't like Angelo, there were better ways he could have come back into their lives, like John and Kathryn pointed out. I'm not surprised to find out that he's hiding something, I called it two episodes ago.
As for Regina, she needs to stop thinking with her lady-parts and start thinking about what's best for her and her daughters, which includes Bay. John, Kathyrn, and Toby have all be really accepting of Daphne but Regina's side has been extremely neglectful of Bay. Does Regina ever willing do anything with her? If it were up to her, the girls would never have known about the switch and at this point in their lives, its just not fair. Regina keeps throwing Angelo in Daphne's face when Daphne has clearly rejected the idea of him in her life. Regina should respect that, even if she doesn't agree with it.
That being said, I think Angelo has some financial dealings that might be shady. That hotel scene where he says his name is "Adam" on the credit card stuck out in my mind as strange. Also Regina's mom hates Angelo and she's pretty level headed, so I'm wondering what else happened that we don't know.Bay has done some things that weren't nice either but she's always the one coming to Daphne to apologize and make peace. Daphne is just angry all the time. Bay has been right on several counts about warning Daphne but she doesn't want to listen. She warned her about the poker, that goes awry but then Daphne is cool with Toby and Wilkie making fake IDs which can get them in soooo much more trouble than a suspension at school. She also tried to warn her about her father being pushy, Daphne took it as Bay trying to stop her from knowing him. Now Bay has warned her off of Simone, which clearly is turning out to be valid as well. Honestly, if I were Bay, I'd give up too.
Angelo left because he thought Regina was sleeping around on him and that she had knowingly forced him to raise another man's baby. Clearly that was the issue, not her being deaf, like Regina led Daphne to believe. He owed Daphne an apology but he never considered her his daughter, he always knew that she wasn't his and he couldn't shake that. Now he finds out that he has this daughter that was kept from him, so of course he wants to get to know her. She is his daughter. Its understandable why Daphne would be hurt but its mainly because she believes that he abandoned her because of her disability not because of the mistrust between Regina and Angelo.
Daphne is being a bit selfish though in this case. Bay didn't actually want her to break up with Liam, she was just venting. After all, how would you feel if you weren't even included on your own family photo? Instead she had been replaced, of course she lashed out at Daphne. Daphne has had PLENTY of time to get to know her birth parents meanwhile Regina is too busy worrying about Daphne that she has made little effort to bond with Bay.
I think that all the characters do things that we dont like, which is why I love this show. They are human. Sometimes we root for one character and other times we don't. I understand why Daphne would be so angry, but I see Bay's side too. She really likes Emmett but everyone saw him with Daphne. Everyone was shocked when they got together, calling him "Daphne's Emmett". The relationship between Daphne and Emmett was unhealthy on both sides. Like when Daphne get's in a jam she calls Emmett instead of dealing with it herself and Emmett never had to be friends with hearing people because he had Daphne when both hearing and deaf people shouldn't put those kinds of limitations on themselves. Because Bay is dating Emmett she actually has to take time to consider another person's feelings when often she can be insensitive.
