Wilkie is adorable, but the guy needs some new material. Daphne isn't an idiot. Something is going on between John and that reporter. Toby's reaction and Daphne's gut feeling are too strong to doubt that. Also Kathryn had suspicions about him and Melody earlier in the season. They turned out to be false but you never think you're going to get cheated on, unless you have been previously. Also, when Sara walked into that office and John saw that Daphne had seen her, well the look on his face gave everything away. If John was really being the good husband and saving Kathryn's book from obscurity, why would he lie? Why wouldn't he just tell her that he managed to convince the reporter to back off? John likes being the hero and that would have been heroic in Kathyrn's eyes. His story doesn't make sense.
I really liked Emmett's dad, but Olivia was a bit much. It's extremely uncomfortable to mention sex right off the bat like that. I don't believe in allowing your kids to be ignorant but some her comments were a bit over the top. Also, Bay's parents would never allow their teenage daughter to sleep over at her boyfriend's place. Bay is a virgin and its extremely stressful to have to figure that out, nevermind being constantly reminded of it by someone she'd just met. But it was interesting to see Bay get very Kennish there for a moment. Considering that Emmett's dad is an adult in his own home, he can get as high as he wants without having to refer to his son's girlfriend. I mean seriously Bay, you're an artist. You can make the choice not to smoke pot but to expect everyone to be like that is kind of unrealistic. Then again, she is a sheltered teenager.
I don't know if Angelo is telling the truth or not but if Adrianna turned him in despite knowing that her daugther and grandaughters would be upset, there had to have been a good reason. Again, Regina isn't thinking straight, if Angelo was a fugitive all these years where did he get the money for the salon? There can't be much money in running from the Italian government. Something shady is going on here...I've been saying it for like four episodes now...
This show isn't racist...I guess if you were looking really hard it could be...It's a reality that there are Latin neighborhoods that are struggling, as there are in any culture. But Regina is presented as a strong female while white Kathryn is shown as narrow minded and weak. I hardly think any of these characters are sterotypes. White or Latin, all of the characters have their good and bad moments. I don't say this a lot but I think you're being over sensitive, especially since there is a lot of interracial friendships throughout the entire show. Now, check out some of sit coms by Disney, there's where you'll find the sterotypes and racism. Seriously, sometimes I wonder how people are oblivious to it.
I hope Emmett's dad at least likes Bay, otherwise their relationship won't last much longer. It's already been quite the strain with Melody's strong disapproval, Daphne's angry jealousy, and everyone's lack of real acknowledgement that Bay and Emmett are actually a couple. With the added pressures of Emmett being deaf and Bay still learning to sign, another set back might prove too much for our young lovers. I say all this as supporter of their relationship. I like them together.
Oh and one more thing. I hated the Summer Nights cover. It was less a tribute and more a rip off. It was poorly done
From the very beginning of this entire series I knew that Finn was going to have issues with deciding his future. I mean in seasons 1-3 he's had trouble deciding between girls, never mind what he wants to do with the rest of his life. I personally hated his proposal to Rachel. Two engagements in one episode? That's too much. Also, high school engagements rarely work out, for Finn it was less an act of love but of desperation. I also found it weird the extent of the Glee Club's involvement in Will's proposal to Emma. I get the number but having a say of what song he sings and Finn being the best man was just plain weird. Ring shopping with your student? Weird. Will needs friends...At least when Ken was around he had a buddy, sort of. Will needs a buddy.
@SuzyQ Finn's dad's urn is in their house, it was shown in his favorite chair in the episode Carol started dating Burt. In the case of military deaths the family has a choice to bury their loved one in a military cemetery or make their own arrangements. It's up to the family.
As for Melody, I felt a bit sorry for her at the end of this episode. Her treatment of Bay is childish but she was devastated when Emmett announced that he was leaving her too. After all, she said all that crap to Bay to keep Emmett from being taken from her but in the end, he left because of her over protectiveness. Losing a husband and a son all within a couple of months must be tough, although, if she had toned down her attitude towards Bay, Emmett might not have felt angry enough to leave.
I felt it was really unfair of Kathryn to blame Bay for what Daphne did. It was completely Daphne's idea and Bay shouldn't have to shoulder any of blame, even she's known as the rebel. What Daphne did was wrong and desperate. She should have listened to Bay, who knows her parents well enough to that Daphne's plan was a bad idea. Daphne never listens to Bay and its going to bite her in the ass, over and over again. But Daphne did grow quite a lot in this episode, letting go of Emmett was really good of her. Wilkie may be an idiot sometimes but his easy going attitude might help Daphne relax a bit.
