    @Mrs.M also, I didn't say that the original witch who cast the spell and the Bennett witch were the same person. "I think that one of the original Bennett witches has to be in that coffin. It's just a matter of which one and why it's important. Maybe the witch who cast the first vampire spell?" There were two suggestions made here. Either a Bennett witch OR the witch who cast original spell, i.e. Klaus's mom.

    @Mrs. M Actually, I did. But being new to the show and having to cram all the episodes into one long string over the past few days has me a little confused as to who is responsible for what, especially on an ever-changing landscape!

    @brendan G I know the show isn't bad, as evidenced by my last two rather glowing reviews of the show. I'm just saying that the reasons I like this show are fast fading, and I don't think it would hurt for the writers to take the show in another direction. Yes, they did a lot of tweaking between when it initially aired last spring and now, but I also think their work isn't quite finished yet.
