We open in 2015, with Cassie asking Cole to share details about his life. After all, since he's from the future and knows her life story, including the building where she dies, it's only fair right?

Cole is hesitant to get into any of that, and prefers to focus on the mission. Sadly, he's pulled back to 2043 before Cassie can get anything out of him.

Before returning to 2043, however, we take a side trip and flashback to the day Cole and Ramse met the murderous scavs known as the West 7. The leader of this group is Deacon, also known as the "Scav King." He led a revolt that killed hundreds in the West 7 quarantine zone. This is where the crew get their name from.

Deacon is impressed with Cole and Ramse's fighting skills, so he offers them a place in the crew. They join up because the promise of food, water and a bed to sleep in are just way too tempting.

Jumping forward to 2043, the West 7 manage to sneak into the facility via secret underground tunnels they couldn't possibly know about.

Our heroes are quickly overpowered, Ramse is killed and Deacon sets his sights on Cole. Rather than die fighting, Jones recommends Cole go back in time and continue their mission with Cassie.

That's easier said than done, as Jones sends Cole just a few days back in time.

He is soon captured by Max and the West 7. Cole thinks back to his time with the crew and we learn he and Max were in love. Ramse's moral compass rubbed Deacon the wrong way and the scav king demanded Cole kill Ramse.

Since there is no scenario where Cole could murder his best friend, they flee together under the cover of darkness. Max was devastated, but she now had a clearer picture and understood his reasoning.

Deacon enjoys beating Cole, and drugs him which inadvertently leads him to reveal the location of the secret tunnels. So that's who talked. 

The West 7 plan their attack and make their way to the temporal facility. Exactly as we witnessed in the previous timeline.

Max finally chooses a side, she frees Cole and together they head to the facility to stop Deacon once and for all.

Once there, Cole sees his future-self fighting the scavs. Since he already knows the outcome, he sends Max to protect Jones. Then he focuses on finding and saving his friend Ramse from certain death.

Though everyone is safe, Deacon manages to get away. You know it's just a matter of time before he returns for revenge.

Jones explains to Cole that the time machine was damaged during the shootout. This is the reason he could not travel back further.

When Cole finally returns to 2015, he learns from Cassie that she's found the "Night Room."
