Eddie and her partner separate two neighbors who are fighting. Apparently they fight all the time. Eddie says this has to stop. They can't keep coming to break up fights. She sends them back to their apartments.

For some reason, Anthony and Erin are telling each other jokes. Anthony's boss wants to see him.

Anthony's boss is retiring. Anthony is upset. He says they'll put some incompetent person in. His boss wants Anthony to take his place.

Danny and Baez return to the scene where the neighbors were fighting. One of them found his husband dead.

Reddick has been shot. Frank tells her to be who she is. (?)

Danny talks to Eddie who tells him what happened. She didn't think Roger was serious when he said he'd kill the guys.

Erin tells Anthony a joke. He tells her that Peterson asked him to take his job. Erin doesn't want him to take the job. She wants to support him but thinks Crawford is trying to cause trouble. Anthony is upset. He says Erin is acting like the world revolves around her and storms off.

Frank talks to Reddick and assures her that it will get better. Getting out of the hospital will help. But Reddick can't be discharged because she has abnormal brain activity. Frank says again that she knows who she is.

Anthony tells Charlie he wants the job.

Roger's boss says Roger didn't come in today and he's his best instructor and a killer. If you get on his bad side, he'll rip your throat out. He says Roger has gotten pretty close to getting out of control sometimes but not crossed the line.

Sid seems depressed. Garett says Frank is rattled and asks how Sid is. Sid says he's fine. But he admits he came at her hard when she was here and she ended up out on the streets.

Danny is looking into whether Roger might have left the country when Eddie comes in with him.

Danny questions Roger, who says he didn't kill Mitchell but he knows Danny thinks he did.

Danny and Eddie talk. Roger didn't talk to them. Danny says there are doubts but he does think Roger did it.  He thinks they need to keep investigating. The ME wants to see Danny.

Charlie makes a speech about how Anthony is all heart and no ego. Everyone applauds Anthony's promotion. Someone interrupts as Anthony starts speaking to say Erin is here. Anthony says he's in a meeting and finishes his speech.

Abigail and Garett talk about Reddick. Abigail feels guilty because she wasn't nice to Reddick. They pushed her out the door.

Anthony feels he sounded like a moron today. Charlie says over time Anthony will grow into the job. Anthony asks how Charlie is able to be so inspiring. CHarlie says this job was his artistry. He is retiring because he doesn't have passion for the job anymore. He encourages Anthony to do the thing that scares him most.

Frank is smoking a cigar when Jamie comes in. Frank says Mom would be mad at him for smoking in the kitchen. He also knows Erin sent Jamie to check on him. Jamie says it's not on Frank. Frank says he's the commissioner. Also Reddick has PTSD and is making up reasons to stay in the hospital. Jamie gives Frank some advice. Frank thinks Jamie would make a good PC if so inclined.

Roger is walking his dog. Danny tells him that the other guy was already dead when he stabbed him, if he did.

Anthony is distracted during a meeting with Charlie because Erin walks by. He says now that he's the boss we're not doing things this way. He's not into paperwork.

The team goes to see Reddick. They have an idea. They want her to come back to 1PP. They feel bad about how they treated her before. Frank shows up and asks her for the room.

Charlie is upset that Anthony shot down his practices. He doesn't want him to destroy his system. He won't let Anthony do it this way. Do his way, that's an order. Anthony says Charlie hasn't lost the passion for the job. Why is he really leaving?

Anthony goes to see Erin, who expects him to apologize for ignoring him all week. He says she had no faith in him. Also she sucks because she's always right. Charlie admitted to him that Crawford is behind the promotion. Erin says she wants him to want to be chief investigator but not until she's DA. She wants to work with him til then. He says she'd better not ever make him feel that way again.

Frank tells Reddick that they got the SOB who shot her. Also he realizes she's not ready to go back to work.  She says that Frank is that rare person who genuinely wants to help people, but if people don't share what's hurting them he can't help them. Frank tells her to call him when she's ready to talk.

Roger and Mitch's husband are arguing again. Eddie breaks up the fight. Roger has found spy cams. Eddie calls Danny for a search warrant.

Eddie and Danny watch the security footage. Jonathan stabbed Mitchell after finding out that Mitchell was having an affair, but he was already dead. Jonathan will be charged with attempted murder. Eddie thinks Mitchell will haunt Jonathan from beyond the grave.

Sid tells Frank about the offer to bring Reddick back to 1PP. The whole team is behind Reddick. Frank is surprised. He says that must be what Reddick wanted to talk to him aout. Reddick comes in and Garett offers her a chair. She sits down and admits she was pretending to need to stay in the hospital. SHe has always had a persona as being tough as nails but it's not true.  However she doesn't want to get behind the desk now because she'd second guess herself forever. She needs to be out in the field right now.

At family dinner they are all given four leaf clovers to put in whiskey. Eddie wonders why there is no Patrick. Erin was supposed to be named Patrick but she turned out to be a girl.  Sean didn't realize that Erin's name means Ireland. They say the traditional Irish prayer for St. Patricks Day.
