Recap

Prentiss gives a profile to a group of conspiracy theorists in Roswell, N.M., in hopes of learning more about a potential unsub. One of the members, Doug, finds a gun in his pocket, and he shoots himself rather than put the gun down. Melissa Miller, one of the "truthers," wants to tape Lewis's interrogation for her podcast, but Prentiss disagrees with the idea. Rossi talks her into allowing it. Lewis explains how the BAU got involved, going over the two previous deaths of group members. Simmons uncovers a stash of weapons at the apartment of one of the victims, Carl Lee. Lewis proposed delivering the profile to the group. Melissa says that someone in law enforcement planted the gun on Doug, and says the FBI is covering up the truth. The metal detector the truthers had passed through had malfunctioned. Melissa still thinks the murders are being staged by the government. Lewis leaves the room and screams in another office. Prentiss sends in JJ to talk about Melissa's favorite book, Catcher in the Rye. A bloody page from that book was found in the home of Lee, and that volume was bought from a local anarchist, Bob Orci. When Simmons and Alvez go to his home, they found Prentiss and the sheriff already there. Orci had been leading on the truthers for years. One of the truthers was killed by fumes when he was cleaning his aquarium. The second murder victim, Lee, had Orci inscribe his book to his girlfriend, Melissa. Doug shot himself while looking at Melissa, who was cheating on Carl with Doug. Lewis tells Melissa that she is the main suspect. They address the remaining truthers seeking the evidence that Melissa gave to one of them, and recover the bullet and shell casing necessary to arrest her.
