Hank and Wu investigate the murder of a biochemist, Dr. Hampton, who was brutally killed after speaking with a colleague with whom she was involved in some unsavory project they want to cover up.

The duo are surprised when they discover fingerprints at the crime scene belonging to two men they know to be dead. When they confront the owner of the funeral home, he confesses to selling the corpses to a colleague of Dr. Hampton.

When another colleague turns up dead, Hank and Wu find a flash drive containing a video file. The video shows how the four scientists performed an unsanctioned fringe science project on the fourth scientist's deceased son in an effort to resurrect him following a car accident.

Astonishingly, the experiment worked. But the limbs they used actually belonged to Wesen, and they declared they had created a monster and ordered the fourth scientist, Dr. Shelley, to destroy it.

When Hank and Wu confront Dr. Shelley, his rampaging son shows up. Shelley ultimately shoots his son but is stopped from killing himself, as well.

Meanwhile, Eve is again confronted by the skull-like face in a mirror, but this time it actually attacks her. When she fights back, it renders her unconscious. Nick spends the whole day at her hospital bed. After she wakes, she fears that whatever is going to happen will happen soon.

Renard continues his investigation into Diana's drawings of Eve's carvings and is alarmed when he is told of their potentially ominous meaning by a Russian friend.
