We get to know a management consultant team led by slimy Marty Kaan on the House of Lies pilot.
He's a troubled man, still sleeping with his ex-wife occasionally, even though she's big on drugs and is also his chief rival. The couple share a son, who cross dresses and is especially close to his grandfather, Marty's dad, who lives with Marty and the boy.
Marty spends the episode trying to land a major client in New York City, proving to viewers that he'll do whatever it takes, including using a stripper to pose as his wife. In the end, he succeeds at the job, but closes the half hour with a deep stare into the mirror. What kind of man does Marty Kaan really want to be?
