News about Deacon's illness gets leaked and spreads quickly throughout Nashville. Rayna receives an envelope with the check she wrote to Beverly ripped up inside. Rayna is so distraught she can't get through a meeting with Juliette. Deacon finds Rayna listening to their old songs. She cries and tells him about going to Beverly and failing. She doesn't want to lose him. They both cry. Deacon cancels on playing at The Bluebird. However, he and Rayna show up after Gunnar and Scarlett perform. They sing one of their old songs for a teary-eyed audience. Gunnar and Scarlett decide, after arguing the entire episode, to sign with Highway 65. Beverly walks through the door and tells Deacon she wants to save his life. As they hug, Beverly gives Rayna as nasty look.

Juliette and Avery join the mile high club. When Rayna walks out on their meeting, Juliette tells Bucky she will have a completely album in two days. She later lies and tells Avery Rayna was the one who told her to have it finished. Avery seems happy but nervous to leave Juliette with Cadence when she volunteers to stay home so he can go to The Bluebird to support Deacon. Emily comes to the house and is horrified to find Juliette wanting to go to the studio, and Cadence hasn't been fed or changed in hours. She calls Avery who rushes home. Juliette comes home to find Avery, Emily, Glenn, and her doctor all waiting to confront her about her behavior. Juliette becomes defensive and mean when they bring up postpartum depression. She leaves furious.

Layla believes she drunkenly tweeted the picture from jade's party. She is still unaware Jeff did it. Layla has been thrown off of Jade's tour. Jeff suggests a Twitter war with Jade to boost her profile. He also lies to Layla again when he tells her Bucky was pleased her Twitter war made it to the front page of the Huffington Post. In reality, Bucky was not happy. Jeff gives Layla a contract to sign that formally makes him her manager, but also binds her career to him in perpetuity. She signs it.

Will and Kevin return from a vacation. Will's dad surprises him. His dad apologizes and his happy he turned his life around, meaning he thinks Will is now straight. He tells Will he loves him, and that clouds Will's judgment when Kevin expresses concern. Luke becomes aware of some photos that are about to be published showing Will and Kevin on their romantic vacation.

Teddy wears a wire for the Feds during his meeting with the State Senator. However, he looks surprised when the Senator brings up Tandy's name.

Scarlett and Gunnar agree to stay out of each other's personal lives to focus on the music. Gunnar and Kiley kiss.
