Women in Garbage
Parks and Recreation Season 5 Episode 11 (01/24/13)
Leslie realizes there is a real gender inequality problem in Pawnee and calls the Gender Equality Committee together to discuss this issue, but it turns out that there are only men on the committee with extremely antiquated views of women and their capabilities.
Leslie lets everyone on the committee know that the area in the work force that presents the biggest problem is in waste management, in other words, garbage collection. When all the men claim that women aren't strong enough to be in that line of work, April and Leslie volunteer to go on the garbage route and prove them wrong.
Everything is going well and Leslie and April are doing better than the men normally on the route when they are presented with the challenging task of moving a gigantic, heavy refrigerator onto a truck. They can't do it and feel defeated about it when they're told that the men tried to move it, but couldn't. Leslie ends up calling a shelter and between her, April, and four women from the shelter, they're able to move the refrigerator.
Tom enlists Andy and Ben to help him play basketball so he can retain his street cred with his clients from Rent-a-Swag, but it doesn't go very well and he ends up losing a game to some kids. In the end, he jumps in during an interview with a kid and promotes Rent-a-Swag.
Ron ends up as a temporary babysitter when Diane's sitter can't take care of her two kids. Ron lets them torture him, but recruits Ann to help him when Diane asks him to help out for a second day. The kids end up cutting each others' hair and Ron worries that Diane will break up with him and in his discussion with Ann, accidentally confessed that he loves Diane. When she returns to find the girls, she's not upset at all and tells Ron that she loves him too.
