Dorian takes part in debauchery and looks at his painting, but it is still hidden from the view of the audience. Later he meets Vanessa in a garden and they flirt over flowers. Meanwhile, Victor works with the hematologist (who turns out to be Van Helsing) and tries to clean Fenton's blood. But it doesn't work and he demands to be fed blood. 

Ethan takes Brona to a play, Vanessa is also there, as is Dorian. When all meet backstage after, Brona realizes she's not part of their world and runs off, telling Ethan to go back to treating her like a whore. While everyone is out, Sir Malcolm and Victor are alone in the mansion and hear noises. Fenton escapes and his Master arrives, but leaves when he discovers Vanessa is gone. Fenton is killed in the scuffle. 

Dorian takes Ethan to his favorite past-time, a game where dogs kill rats. They both become bored and leave to share absinthe at Dorian's home. Ethan was overcome by blood at the dog fight and seems to feel it again, but when he grabs Dorian it is to kiss him.
