Daniel Pierce learns that his doctor, Caroline, looks like his hallucination, Natalie. He discovers that he saw her at a college party years ago, but never talked to her. That was when his schizophrenia symptoms first began. He never had a girlfriend named Natalie.
Kate learns that one of the murdered victims' sons is the one who killed Wesley Sumpter in order to allow Pierce to believe in the conspiracy.
The conspiracy involves a senators wife trying to knock off politicians in order to take her husband's seat herself.
Pierce is reinvigorated knowing Wesley did actually kill himself, and he discovers the plot to take over the senators seat.
Pierce continues to make his meds promising no more secrets with Kate.
Caroline quits being Pierce's doctor but becomes his friend.
