Shawn and Gus receive a mysterious email essentially inviting to solve the murder of Dual Spires sweetheart Paula Merral... under the guise of a Cinnamon Festival.
Like the original series Twin Peaks, every lead uncovers the unseemly underbelly of a seemingly simple town and its quirky residents.
In the end, the town Sheriff and Doctor are found guilty of the murder, the product of their desire to preserve the family tradition of leading the town, a tradition threatened by the adventurous Paula Merral’s desire to leave the Dual Spires, and take the only living heir to inherit the duties of leadership in the town - her boyfriend - with her.
Catherine Couslon, Lenny Von Dohlen, Sherilynn Fenn, Sheryl Lee, Dana Ashbrook and Robyn Lively guest star as some of the Dual Spires most prominent members, with Ray Wise reprising his role as Father Wesley.
Any hardcore fan of Twin Peaks is in for a real treat. Everything from synthesized theme song cover to the Great Northern Paper was a call back to the best of the short-lived primetime series.
