Charlie's ex-wife arrives at Hope Zion Hospital and accuses Alex of being too distant from Charlie's treatment. Alex, the ex-wife believes, is not acting like a wife and is too clinical in her approach to Charlie's care.
A young boy comes to Hope Zion hospital complaining of stomach pains. While being treated by Dr. Reid, the boy's heart stops beating and he is able to see and hear Charlie. Charlie asks the boy to give Dr. Reid a message, but when the boy wakes up, all he can remember is what Charlie looks like so he draws a picture.
Goran and Lin treat a woman whose religion does not believe in blood transfusions. Without surgery and a transfusion she will die. After treating the patient, Goran and Lin sleep together.
