Provenza helps his ex-wife, Liz, search for her wedding ring and he and Flynn unwittingly stand by while a robbery and murder takes place at the jewelry store. 

Liz's dog, Frank, eats the only piece of evidence left behind.

The surviving owner of the store is a dramatic character making a worthy adversary for Major Crimes in the laughs department.
