Esther unveils her plan to Elijah during the opening moments of The Originals Season 2 Episode 5. She believes that by showing him the truth about Tatia, the original doppelganger whom both Klaus and Elijah loved, Elijah will beg to live in a mortal body as a witch instead of continuing on as a vampire.

Tatia was a widow in the village. She chose Elijah and Esther had hoped the two would get married. Elijah, overcome with blood lust, hurt his beloved just after he discovered that Klaus, in werewolf form, killed six villagers.

Cami and Kol tend to Davina and Klaus agrees to take the girl to a hospital. When he sends Cami to get the car, she doesn't return and he discovers Mikael has taken her hostage. Finn calls Kol to tell him he'll need to kill Davina's spell or kill Davina. He tries to ruin the spell.

Later, Davina learns that Kaleb is Kol and after initially distrusting him decides to work with him in order to stop Mikael.

Klaus tracks Mikael and Cami to a clearing in the woods where he compelled an entire party to taunt Klaus. After killing the lot of them, he gets a call from Hayley alerting him to Elijah's disappearance and Marcel overhears that Mikael has Cami as his prisoner. Klaus continues tracking Mikael, as do Davina and Kol.

Davina and Kol unspell the White Oak stake while Mikael and Klaus fight. Marcel and Hayley show up and help Klaus fight Mikael. He disappears before they can kill him again.
