On this week's The Walking Dead…
A flashback reveals Lori's lost love with her husband. She learns from Shane that Rick has been shot (referring to the Pilot episode) and she tells Carl.
Back at current time, Rick takes the wounded Carl and runs towards Hershel's farm.
Hershel, a veterinarian, attempts to fix Carl and remove the bullets. He lives with his family including daughter Maggie, and fellow friends Otis and his wife.
Unfortunately, Hershel needs to put Carl under to prevent him from moving while he performs the surgery. The tools he needs are at a local school where a CDC had set up. Shane and Otis, the man who shot Carl, go to the school.
They manage to retrieve the items, but a horde of zombies block their exit and the two are trapped in a building.
Meanwhile, T-Dog gains a fever and tries to convince Dale that they should leave the group. Dale refuses. Instead he and the rest decide to wait one more night in case Sophia finds her way back to the RV.
