Evan Rachel Wood Dishes on Queen Sophie-Ann

It's sad, but true: True Blood concludes its second season on September 13 with an episode titled "Beyond Here Lies Nothin."

The good news, however, is that Evan Rachel Wood - who debuted last week as Queen Sophie-Ann - isn't going anywhere. She'll play a key role on season three of the series.

Evan Rachel Wood on True Blood

The actress recently sat down with TV Guide Magazine and opened up about the past and the future of her character. Here are excerpts from the interview:

On her rumored sex scene: I don’t know how that got out, and I don’t want people tuning in and being disappointed. It’s not a sex scene; it’s just a steamy scene. There’s a little something going on with somebody you don’t expect.

On Sophie-Ann's age: I’ve heard somewhere between 500 and 1,000 years old. And she’s spoiled - she’s a queen - so she’s decked out in the best clothes and the best jewelry. She’s incredibly smart and witty, but she is definitely deadly.

On her purpose: You don’t know if she’s good or bad. I think she’s a little bit of both.

A Wedding Coming to True Blood Finale

We had no idea there was even a wedding coming up on True Blood, until previews after last Sunday's episode revealed Sookie in a maid-of-honor dress.  So just who will our favorite telepath be a bridesmaid for?

Who other than the crazy as bat-#^%# Maryann?  The unlucky guy?  The god who comes of course!

Maryann Being Crazy

Maryann will don a wedding dress with the intention of marrying Dionysus when he comes for the vessel they choose to sacrifice.

So our big question is, why did she choose Sookie over Tara to be her maid-of-honor?  Tara was like totally her BFF.

True Blood Recap: "Frenzy"

Although last night's episode of True Blood was far from a frenzy, we were introduced to Sophie Anne, the Vampire Queen of Louisianna, and lady fans were finally given some ample Eric screen time.

Eric Lays Seductively

The episode dragged at times, spending way too long with Sophie Anne teaching us the history of maenads, but definitely set things up nicely for the season two finale in two weeks.

That's right, much like the American workforce, True Blood will be taking Labor Day weekend off.  So sit tight and read our "Frenzy" recap and wait for us to give you plenty of True Blood spoilers over the next two weeks.

Of course, here are our usual favorite quotes.

Sam: You can't shoot anyone else. These are our friends. This is our town.
Jason: Sometimes you need to destroy something to save it. That's in the Bible... or the Constitution | permalink
Sophie-Anne: Maenads are sad, silly things... relics who believe in the God who comes. Bill: Does he ever come?
Sophie-Anne: Of course not. Gods only exist in humans' minds, like money or morality | permalink
Andy: ...and women do just throw themselves at you. You don't even have to do anything
Jason: Actually I do. I work out like a motherf**ker and I watch a lot of porn to learn stuff | permalink

Does Evan Rachel Wood's Vampire Queen Go Both Ways?

Evan Rachel Wood makes her debut as Sophie-Anne, the Vampire Queen of Louisianna on this upcoming weekend's episode of True Blood entitled "Frenzy."

After Wood's interview with E! Online, we're definitely led to believe that the 1,100 year-old vampire like to play for both teams.

She told E! Online that, ""She's not necessarily a lesbian.  Her human partner is a girl, but I'm pretty sure she goes both ways [laughs]. I think vampires are like that in general."

Sophie-Anne

Check out some of our other favorite questions she answered.

E! Online: I want to know who you are going to have sex with. Are you more Eric or Bill, and what kind of drama is Queen Sophie-Ann starting?
Evan Rachel Wood: I figured that those would be the questions! Who do I have sex with? Well, I don't know if I am having sex with anyone yet, but I certainly have a steamy scene with someone that I don't think you'd really expect. So it will be a little fun.

Did you have to get naked yet, because everyone on the show gets naked?
I can't say I do just yet. But they are bringing me back next season, so it's always a possibility. It's kind of inevitable.

So are you Team Eric or Team Bill?
I would say, Team Alex—Eric! Whoops.

Hmm, whoops indded.  You can read the rest of the interview at E! Online.

True Blood: Spoilers for Last Two Episodes

Someone needs to take down Maryann on True Blood.  She has long worn off her welcome in Bon Temps as far as the citizens and we are concerned.

Now thanks to some spoilers from the cast of True Blood, we learn just how they plan on doing that.  Here's what's in store for the final two episodes of the season.

  • Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette) describes Sookie's power as "I read the books, so I think she's part fairy. That was her fairy power."  Rutina Wesley (Tara) says the power "is a funky little thing" and we won't know for sure until season two
  • Tara Buck (Fangtasia waitress ginger) says that she'll be back this Sunday and that Sam will hide out in Fangtasia with Eric and Pam
  • Nelsan Ellis says it's not one single character that takes Maryann out, but rather it's a "group effort" by allt he good guys
  • As far as Arlene and Terry's future, Carrie Preston (Arlene) says, "When you're possessed on the show, the next day, you don't remember. So they can start over—like a reset, a reboot. I think Arlene is constantly searching for the perfect man, and maybe he's going to be the one. I don't know."
  • As for Tara and Eggs having a life after Maryann, Rutina says, "I think she is really falling in love for the first time...She's ready to open herself up"
  • Oh and did we mention the vampire Queen Sophie is hooking up with Sookie's cousin, Hadley Hale (Lindsey Haun)?  Check out the hot pic below
