Neal and Peter go after a dirty senator, Terrence Pratt, who they think might have ties to Neal’s father and Ellen, and is also the one who ordered for the transfer of Dennis Flynn.
Neal finally receives the evidence box filled with Ellen’s belongings, allowing Neal to get to the key, which opens the box of evidence Ellen left that would reveal who she was investigating. The investigation goes south, however, when the brakes on Peter’s car are cut and he’s involved in an accident. To make matter worse, Elizabeth, devastated, asks Neal to continue the investigation on his own to keep Peter safe, causing tension in his relationship with Peter.
