Royal Pains Review: "Pit Stop"

at .

"Pit Stop" may not have been the best episode of the season, but it was rather enjoyable. What can I say? I am a (closeted) major fan of reality TV.

The reality show reminded me of a combination of MTV's Beach House and Jersey Shore. What's better than watching a bunch of twenty somethings get crazy and hookup - and even better - play dress up? Yeah, I don't know the answer to  that one either.

Evan, Dressed Up

The best part of the episode was how engrossed Divya became with it. I found myself smiling because it reminded me of how I feel when I watch these mind numbing shows. Somehow, they always tend to suck you in.

Divya let out a secret when she told Evan that these shows do so well because it is an escape from reality. He pointed out that she must have something to escape from too. Could this mean that she has misgivings about getting married?

Last night's episode was mainly a filler - setting us up for what is in store for us the rest of the season.

With Emily back, it's pretty clear that Jill is not happy seeing Hank with her. She even tells him that seeing them together makes her uncomfortable. It wouldn't be surprising if there comes a time where Hank will have to choose between the two of them.

The scene with Emily and Jill in bed was basically put into this episode for some giggles and I'm sure Evan wasn't the only guy watching wanting to give high fives to Hank.

Hank and Evan asked Emily to join the practice as a partner and she counter offered with Hank joining her in making the business national. Evan wasn't the only one a bit perturbed with this offer.  I've never been a huge fan of Emily and wouldn't mind it if the writers decided to write her off.

Boris still may not have a clue that Marissa is pregnant, but he does know that something is up. It all made sense why Marissa is keeping the baby a secret, but after the scare with the toxoplasmosis, I was certain that the cat would be let out of the bag.

Since the writers are setting up the baby to be a boy, my only hope would be it's a girl. What do you think the gender will be?

The award to cutest couple would have to go to Evan and Paige. Every scene with them is usually so fun and entertaining. That's why, it was so heartbreaking to watch them have a fight and not see the end results. Sometimes Evan can be such a bonehead. Hopefully next week, he will do something over-the-top romantic to prove how sorry he really is.

The side story proved to be one that was quite educational. I never knew that you could get botulism from eating something from an exploding can. You really do learn something new every day.

Eddie R wasn't even mentioned this week, which was something I found to be unusual. Last week's winter premiere was all about Eddie and this week he got the shaft. What gives?

Overall, there are many questions left unanswered. Hopefully, next week, we can get to the bottom of a couple of them. What did you thinks of last night's episode? Leave your comments below!
