Lisa Edelstein on The Good Wife Character: All About Risk

at .

Lisa Edelstein classifies her exit from House as a "sad, disappointing, difficult decision to make." But the actress is moving on, to arguably the best drama on network television.

She'll debut early on season three of The Good Wife as Celeste Serrano, an attorney initially believed to be Will's former business partner. Is that accurate, though?

"I know that we gambled together. I know that we have a romantic history," Edelstein tells Michael Ausiello in a wide-ranging interview.

What else can the actress reveal about the character?

"She’s a lawyer with pliable ethics. She really enjoys the gamble and the game of law. She’s also a professional gambler. She’s been playing for a long time and she has a history with Will in that world as well. So everything that she does is all about the risk, and it’s really fun - especially [in contrast] to Alicia, who has to be so held together. This woman doesn’t have any of those rules in her life."
