Seth Meyers Late Night Debut: Grade It!

A week after Jimmy Fallon's star-studded debut of The Tonight Show, Seth Meyers took to the Late Night stage Monday and reminded us why we loved him so much as Weekend Update Anchor.

The comedian combined personal touches (a shout-out to his wife and a photo of himself with a greyhound puppy) with reminders of SNL (yes, that was a Stefon figure on his desk) and, of course, some strong segments.

He joked about the Sochi Olympics, about The Bachelor and about Rob Ford, while introducing a bit titled "Venn Diagrams" that revealed the common denominator between two varying topics. To wit:

George Clooney has bit in both Sports Illustrated models and Gravity.

Who knew learning could be so fun?!?

Amy Poehler was Meyers' appropriate first guest, as the two discussed SNL and Clooney once again ("I want to say something to George Clooney that no woman has ever said, 'George, please stop,'" Poehler said of the stars' prank war), and then Joe Biden came out and teased a 2016 Presidential run.

To close out the show, A Great Big World performed "Say Something" and Meyers signed off by joking: "If everyone could stick around, I'd like to do five hours of notes."
