The police are investigating multiple deaths in their small town. Deputy Molly Solverson is convinced that Lester's involved in the deaths on Fargo Season 1 Episode 2. Bill takes over as the Chief and repeatedly tries to steer her investigation towards drifters.

Meanwhile, Fargo sends Mr. Numbers and Mr. Wrench to investigate Sam Hess' death. They can't allow the murder of one of their own go unpunished. They find a potential perpetrator, but not Lorne, since he's left town.

Lorne takes on a new case in Duluth. Will the blackmailer get a death sentence? Or will it be one of the despicable people getting divorced.
