TV Ratings Report: A Good Start for The Good Wife?

at .

CBS kicked off its fall programming last night with a pair of premieres:

First, Madam Secretary Season 1 Episode 1 aired (following a football overrun, naturally) to 14.2 million total viewers and a 1.9 rating among 18-49-year olds, improving upon The Amazing Race‘s year-ago audience by 65 percent overall.

Leading out of that debut, The Good Wife Season 6 kicked off with 10.3 million households tuning in and a 1.3 rating, an increase in total viewers, but down two tenths from its previous premiere.

Still, this was a healthy boost from the show's May finale (9.1 million/1.2).

On Fox, meanwhile, the guest voice of Kim Kardashian helped American Dad (3 million/1.4) tick up a tenth from the previous week, as it prepares to jump to TBS with Season 11 on October 20.
