After that steamy scene with Jake and Olivia knocking boots on Scandal Season 4 Episode 2, there is much to discuss! So that's what we're doing right here at TV Fanatic.

Join staff writers Christine Orlando, Jim Garner, Leigh Raines and Miranda Wicker below as they give you the state of the union on "The State of the Union." Be sure to sound off in the comments below with your answers.

What was your favorite quote or scene from Scandal Season 4 Episode 2?

Christine: It was the scene where Abby confronts Mellie. These are my two favorite characters and I found myself agreeing with both of them. Mellie deserves the opportunity to grieve however she needs to but Abby was right in that she's not the only person to go through such a tragedy and many have done it under far worse circumstances. Abby told Mellie what she needed to hear. Perhaps it will help her take a step forward.

Jim: I loved Abby reminding Mellie that she wasn't the only parent to have lost a child and that she had a job to do. I adored Mellie for the rest of the episode. Christine is right, Abby was the first one to tell Mellie what she needed to hear.

Leigh: Pretty much anything with Mellie involved. If someone doesn't give that woman an award this year I'm going to scream. She runs the full gamut of emotions and she is doing an incredible job this season. And she's normally a dynamo so that's saying a lot.

Miranda: While I, too, loved everything about Mellie, I'll go with something different for variety's sake. That phone call between Jake and Olivia was pretty exceptional. I love that he stands up to her and doesn't just say what she wants to hear or do what she wants him to do. It made the fact that she went to him more...more...something.

Do you approve of David's method of "winning"?

Christine:  I don't know if I'd use the word "approve" but David has had the rug pulled out from under him so many times I was thrilled he decided it was his turn to win. Unless he want to go back and teach, this is the way the game is played.

Jim: I agree with Christine, this is how the game is played. While I can't say that I approve of blackmail, I am thrilled that David put on his big boy pants and stepped-up to the plate.

Leigh: Sadly while we like to think that there was people who still believe in the White Hat, politics are so twisted that it's impossible not to get your hands dirty sometimes. Like Christine said, David has been screwed so many times. Good for him for going for his.

Miranda: I wholeheartedly support him in his endeavors. If there's one thing working for Olivia Pope taught him, it's that sometimes good people have to get their hands dirty in order to make a difference.

3. Does Cyrus smell the setup behind Michael the Sex Worker?

Christine:  I hope so. Cyrus is an incredibly smart man but grief and loneliness can knock anyone off their game.

Jim: As smart as he is, I would hope so. The question I have is how is he going to turn it to his advantage.

Leigh: I mean, how can he not? And the answer is: grief. Cy is lonely. I hope that this isn't bad for him, I hope he can spin it, I'm sure Liv will be involved, but right now I think he's just lost.

Miranda: Dear god, I hope so.

Aside from Charlie, what will Jake find on those documents?

Christine:  I didn't really get a good look at the documents (other than Charlie had a Porterhouse steak...I was hungry.) But I'm wondering if he'll find out the truth behind the First Son's murder. That could be catastrophic.

Jim: I think Jake will learn that B-613 was behind Harrison's death. I mean, after all, daddy-dearest hasn't done anything truly vile in a while and this seems up his alley.

Leigh: Jake is smart enough to recognize that this reeks of Papa Pope. It's kind of obvious to have Charlie on camera though isn't it? He let his face be seen by security cameras and Charlie isn't that stupid. Whether anyone will learn how Jerry really died will remain to be seen.

Miranda: None of you guessed my theory! I don't think Harrison Wright is dead. Adnan was killed in D.C. We saw that. All Jake saw on those documents was a hand and a toe tag. Let's see if Columbus Short can get his ish together and make a comeback.

Scale of 1 to 10, how badly do you want to see Quinn and Huck together?

Christine:  0. To be honest the two of them together kind of skeeve me out.

Jim: 7: Christine and I see them very differently. I remember when he was teaching her about how he watched "his family" and I think that Quinn and Huck could be really good for each other.

Leigh: Eh like a 2. I get it, they click and vibe on their own weird level but I'm just not down with it. If we're going to talk sex scenes can we talk about those boots Olivia was wearing when she went to Jake's hotel room? Dayum.

Miranda: I don't knooooooow. They're so weird together and it's so weird to watch but it makes sense. BUT IT'S SO WEIRD.

Better monologue to Mellie: Cyrus or Abby?

Christine:  Cyrus. A broken heart is a broken heart. To take a measure is cruelty. So true Neither Cyrus or Mellie will ever be the same. Just when I think Cyrus is just a devious, cold hearted, calculating bastard he reminds me otherwise.

Jim: Abby wins my vote. While I haven't lost a child, I did only get 3 days to mourn the loss of my mom. She was right, that many of us have to grieve and still get up and go to work the next day if we want to keep our jobs.

Leigh: Abby's overall monologue was better. It is important to remember that she is a public figure and so many people who have been through the same thing are looking to her right now. However, I did write down that exact quote from Cy that Christine mentioned above. Loved it. The patio of the White House is the new hotspot these days.

Miranda: Abby wins this round. With Cyrus you can never tell if he's sharing himself like that because he needs to share or because he wants something or both. What I loved about Abby's speech is that she's normally brash and balls to the wall with her words. She said what was on her mind with Mellie, but she didn't do it in her usually brusque manner. Abby was uncomfortable in that moment but still managed to get the job done.
