The Mysteries of Laura Season 1 Episode 11 Review: The Mystery of the Frozen Foodie

at .  Updated at .

After a long hiatus, The Mysteries of Laura Season 1 Episode 11 is finally back.

It's difficult to focus on the main story when you've watched similar events unfold on other television series. Though watching Laura be a complete bad ass does make the stories bearable.

So let's just dive right on in and welcome Laura back!

It always surprises me how nonchalant garbage workers are on television when they uncover a dead body. Is there something I don't know about this particular line of work? Is this a common occurrence for our sanitation workers?

Billy and Jake working together always puts me in a good mood. I like the dynamic between these two and appreciate they don't do the whole good cop/bad cop spiel. Jake deserved a hug when he told off that jerk of a chef and the chef couldn't understand how you could be so cruel to someone that works their ass off for you.

He busted his ass for you 80-90 hours a week in the kitchen. You find him like that and you just throw him in the trash. What's wrong with you?

Jake

Max is really starting to become a full fledged member of the team; though still remaining to be the perfect dose of comedy. Max getting the information on Peter and really diving in on investigating the other foodie that was being blackmailed showed Max is truly intelligent and much more then his families money.

We all knew Jake was going to walk in on Laura and her sexy new chef/baker making out on the couch. It was an inevitable moment and it needed to happen. Though in Jake's defense, he does have a spare key and he was honestly trying to brief Laura on the case.

Jake and Laura are going to get together eventually – the road is clearly paved for them to get together. I appreciate the fact Laura is not being the victim here and is telling Jake exactly what needs to happen. This is not a relationship where you can just snap your fingers and everything will be ok; it is going to take work!

To quote Laura:

You can't fix what's broken in our relationship with a pizza. Look if you really want to make it better between us, stop thinking of how to make yourself look good and start thinking about why I was so unhappy that I chose to become a single mother.

Carmen being the killer wasn't shocking – saw that coming a mile away – though I am still confused on why she felt the need to freeze him to death. Yeah, I get she is pregnant by Peter, but there are so many other things she could have done instead of killing the poor guy. Plus, how cold and calculated she was in murdering him just gives me the chills.

It was a nice wrap up for Jake and Laura – the symbolism of him giving Laura the spare key really spoke volumes on how Jake does truly want to change. Though the previews for next week have me somewhat confused; tonight Laura wanted to move on, yet the previews show her jealously bubbling up when Jake's ex comes to town.

What did you think of tonight's episode? What do you think needs to be done for Jake and Laura to get back together?
