Daredevil Renewed for Season 2; New Showrunners Announced
Matt Richenthal at .Netflix is not blind to the critical success of its latest drama.
The streaming giant announced today that Daredevil has been picked up for a second season.
New episodes of the Charlie Cox-anchored hit will be released in 2016, though new showrunners will be behind the renewal:
Doug Petrie (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, American Horror Story) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy), both of whom worked closely with Season 1 showrunner Steven DeKnight and creator Drew Goddard, will take charge next year.
Daredevil tells the tale of Cox's Matt Murdock, a young man blinded a young boy, yet imbued with extraordinary senses.
The superhero fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and then by night as the the title character who takes on all sorts of evil comers in Hell's Kitchen.
Along with Cox, Daredevil stars Rosario Dawson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Scott Glenn, Bob Gunton, Toby Leonard Moore, Vondie Curtis Hall and Ayelet Zurer.
