Scorpion Season 2 Episode 23 Review: Chernobyl Intentions

at .  Updated at .

You asked her if she wanted to go to a jazz festival with another man???

On Scorpion Season 2 Episode 23, we had some great Waige moments, and then Walter had to go and slap us all in the face with two little words – with Tim. Why?

Before we jump into the adorable and yet awkward conversation that was almost Walter asking Paige out on a date, let's rewind to the beginning of the hour, shall we?

Avoiding a Meltdown - Scorpion

We've had Toby meddle in Walter's love life before. He always finds time to put in his two cents, but tonight we got to see Happy check in on Walter. This was absolutely amazing. I loved watching Happy comment on how Walter is acting around Paige, and how he should be asking her out.

Like Happy said, she isn't one to discuss the personal lives of others, so you know it had to be really bad if Happy felt the need to step in. It was great to get Happy's point of view on all of this, and I just loved exploring Happy and Walter's friendship more.

They don't often get a lot of one on one time, so it was nice seeing the two of them together.

Between Happy's encouragement and the Waige kiss that literally saved Walter's life, we had hope. Hope that this would be the moment where Walter made the first move toward something more. Then, Tim called and Walter lost his nerve.

You know me. Can you even calculate the level of discomfort it brings me to comment on your personal life?

Happy

Watching Walter work his way up to getting to the asking part of the conversation was so adorable. We rarely see Walter act this nervous. It was difficult to stop myself from flailing around during his ramble about jazz music. What was worse is you could tell that Paige knew where this was going. She had hope too. Damnit, Walter.

This was one hell of an episode for Waige. If you were on the fence about them before or maybe just not that hardcore of a shipper, this episode most likely helped sway you into the "oh my god start dating NOW" column.

We were reminded of the many reasons why they should be together. There's trust. There's chemistry. There's a bond there.

We even got some life saving heroics that happened. Walter stopped and asked Paige to trust him. Normally, Walter would just go into the math and science behind why he's right, and then he would do the thing. Not with Paige. With Paige, he made sure that she was okay, and he asked her permission, basically.

The case of the week was absolutely insane in an entertaining way. It's a miracle that they are all alive, and how is it none of them got any kind of radiation poisoning or sickness? You would think one of them would have a cough or something, but what do I know about science?

The mitochondria is the power house of the cell. That's it. That's what I know about science.

Besides, you know you have a job to do. You never let the team down. You are delaying the inevitable, and every extra second we stay here, we're getting more radiation.

Paige

I was really surprised at how well Sly handled everything. He powered through his fear, and aside from stalling before getting into the plane, he didn't let his fear cripple him. I was honestly expecting Paige to have to do another pep talk after they crashed, but Sly managed to focus on the problem at hand. Brava, Sylvester.

I'll be honest here; I don't remember Mark.

The recap and the beginning of the hour helped me remember that he was a part of Scorpion, and that he would get wrapped up in his work. As I'm writing this I'm remembering that Mark would drag Walter down into these spirals of nothing but work, where the two of them would get hold up in hotel rooms for days.

That's all I got.

I don't really remember the specifics of Team Scorpion's last encounter with Mark. Rescuing Toby will obviously be a very personal mission, and I'm just afraid that part of it will be lost on those (like me) who don't remember all of what happened last time with Mark. Hopefully, there's a good enough recap and some dialogue that will refresh our memories.

Of course, I could just go back and read the recap and review for Scorpion Season 1 Episode 5, aka the case where we met Mark. Wow, it's been awhile since we saw him last.

What did you think of the episode? Would you want there to be a confetti cannon at your proposal? Can Paige's white outfit be saved? She really picked a terrible day to wear white. Leave your thoughts in a comment below.

Scorpion Season 2 Episode 23 Quotes

Walter: Why do we keep getting invoices from the United States Treasury?
Paige: Because we flooded Fort Knox.

Medically speaking? He's nuttier than peanut brittle.
