Sheldon and Leonard hanging out in the wilderness is never something I thought I'd see.
On The Big Bang Theory Season 9 Episode 20, Sheldon and Amy go with Penny and Leonard for a short vacation in a cabin in the woods, which gets Sheldon way out of his comfort zone.
Luckily for Sheldon, it rains the entire time, so they're forced to stay inside the cabin. Of course, that's only after he strips down to his underwear and asks if someone will help him check for ticks.
Basically, Amy is just having the best weekend ever.
Penny suggests a drinking game that none of the others have ever played: "Never Have I Ever." It's a pretty terrible idea, especially with this group, and of course, it takes an ugly turn.
Oh, it's funny to start with, but Sheldon makes a social faux pas when he chooses a "never have I ever" that reveals a secret about Leonard.
It turns out, he's been keeping secret bank account because he doesn't trust Penny with the way she spends money.
Even though it's an interesting dynamic, this is the sort of thing that makes me dislike Leonard. These two generally act as equals in their relationship, but when it comes to money, they have a problem.
Yes, that is a realistic struggle, but it seems to ring false for this couple, and it's uncomfortable to watch.
Penny does end up revealing that she hates her job, so I'm curious to see how much longer she'll actually stick with it.
This isn't to entirely begrudge the episode, which is overall pretty solid. It seems like it was also about time for a good double date trip with Sheldon and Amy and Penny and Leonard. (Shamy and... what's the shipper name for Penny and Leonard, you guys? Is there one? Should there be?)
Meanwhile, Raj is fussing over Bernadette's pregnancy and crossing some lines with his involvement.
In super weird ways.
It's endearing and sweet, and it actually makes a lot of sense if you consider Raj and Howard's friendship. Of course, Raj is going to be overly involved. I just don't want him to somehow suddenly replace Stuart in their household.
Other Thoughts:
- Bernadette, you really do NOT need to be watching those birthing videos!
- I love how Bernadette snuggles up with the giant teddy bear like it's totally normal.
- Leonard's choice in a baseball cap is Team Hufflepuff from Harry Potter. I can't think of a better choice.
