MTV wants more of The Shannara Chronicles.
The fantasy series, based upon a series of books by Terry Brooks, has been renewed for a second season.
The Shannara Chronicles is a tale about three heroes who are on a quest to stop a demon army from destroying their world.
It stars Poppy Drayton as Amberle, an Elvin Princess; Invana Baquero as Eretria, a Human Rover; and Austin Butler as Wil, a Half-Elf, Half-Human.
While the series didn't do well on traditional television, it did well with the young demographic, on delayed viewing and across non-traditional platforms.
“This dream team delivered a beautiful, ground breaking show with compelling stories and character journeys which brought in new viewers,” said Mina Lefevre, EVP and Head of Scripted Development at MTV.
