TGIT Return Delayed: Find Out Why!

Fans of Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder and Grey's Anatomy are going to have to wait a little bit longer for their favorite shows to return.
After announcing the return of the three dramas a few months ago, the ABC promotional department has been in overdrive to raise awareness for the return of TGIT.
Now, it has been announced that the trio of Shondaland dramas will debut one week later than originally planned.
This is all thanks to an pre-inauguration 20/20 special airing on ABC news.
The one-hour special, America's First Family: The Trumps Go To Washington will air at 10 p.m. ET, out of encores of Grey's Anatomy and Scandal.
It would have made sense for ABC to just bump How to Get Away with Murder for the week. That show has less episodes left to air this season.
Apparently, ABC were adamant that all three series would premiere together to celebrate the return of TGIT.
Presumably, this is to drum up interest after less than stellar fall results on the night. Grey's Anatomy is as resilient as ever.
Notorious failed to pull in much of an audience and How to Get Away with Murder continued to lose steam.
On the flip side, it means there will be less encores on the horizon for the likes of Grey's Anatomy and Scandal.
There's nothing worse than having your favorite shows in encores every other week. Right?
The network will no doubt be betting big on the return of Scandal which has always paired well with Grey's Anatomy.
Additionally, there's a lot of hype for the return of Scandal due to the fact it concluded without giving fans the results of the election.
It's been off the air for so long that they had better deliver a solid opener.
It has been revealed that the election results will come very early in the premiere.
Yeah, we're just as cut up as you guys are. We cannot wait to have all three shows airing together again.
It's pretty much three hours of twists.
There's not been any other network that has been able to have three great shows together quite like ABC does.
