The Blacklist Season 4 Episode 12 Review: Natalie Luca

Who is Isabella Stone?

If you stuck around for the promo for The Blacklist Season 4 Episode 13, then you already have a tidbit of an answer and a face behind the name.

But that aside, just who is this character that is attacking Red’s organization? Why is she coming after him? What is the deeper meaning behind it?

It’s the type of name drop that can keep Red sitting down and us viewers eager to find out just what type of character Red is going up against.

Red approves - The Blacklist Season 4 Episode 12

Clearly, The Blacklist Season 4 is trying to go somewhere different with respect to Red’s story.

I’m interested to see what his being targeted will mean going forward.

The name drop of Baldur Maggnuson on The Blacklist Season 4 Episode 11 certainly piqued my interests in Red facing off with a new nemesis.

The Blacklist Season 4 Episode 12 revealed he was pretty much a red herring, but it wasn’t something that was dragged out.

Hopefully, Isabella proves to be more than just a blacklister only willing to stick around for an episode.

But it does make you wonder about her connections to the blacklister of the week in Natalie Luca.

Cute baby Agnes - The Blacklist Season 4 Episode 12

It was certainly a nice change of pace to involve a case of the week that wasn’t about some sadistic bad guy.

Instead, we got a pair of lovers that were unable to have contact with each other because Natalie had a deadly disease that could kill with a kiss.

Watch out, Prince Charming!

There was a tragedy surrounding their ordeal, especially because they were killing others to get money to help fund research so Natalie’s significant other could find a way to be with her.

On top of that was the organization that was after them, and that ultimately led to their demise.

It wasn't a surprise ending, but it was a sad one. Natalie finally got to kiss her love, but only because he was already dying.

It definitely wasn’t a happy ending.

Samar and Ressler are ready to clean up - The Blacklist Season 4 Episode 12

Though, it made me hope that Samar and Aram can eventually get through whatever issues they have to be together.

Clearly, those two care for each other, and Aram taking a pay cut was just a small indication of that feeling for her.

Here’s hoping they find a way to pull through and don’t finally get together only to have some tragic twist where one of them is killed.

Don’t do it Blacklist writers!

Tom getting back into the action was a major plus.

The guy is obviously doing great as a stay-at-home dad, but he’s in his prime kicking ass and playing assassin/spy.

So to see him take out multiple bad guys and get involved in a con, with Red no less, was a fun shift for his character.

Time for some vodka - The Blacklist Season 4 Episode 12

I keep wondering what’s going to push Tom away from Liz to go to The Blacklist Redemption.

Yet the more I see those two talk about fighting to stay together because they do love each other, the more I think that he’s going to find a way to make it all work.

After all, she manages to still be an agent. Maybe they just have to take turns on which days they each get to play spy?

This hour had two relatively engaging stories in both the case of the week and dealing with the larger Red story.

The discussion of doing anything for someone you love rings true and clearly connects to a variety of characters on the show.

And, of course, diving deeper into a new Red adventure has me intrigued.

But should we be worried about Red surviving The Blacklist Season 4?

What did you think of the tragic love story? Why is Isabella Stone after Red?
