The Mindy Project: Renewed for Sixth and Final Season at Hulu!!!

Dr. Mindy Lahiri will be checking out of Hulu after her upcoming sixth season.

Yes, you guys, The Mindy Project is officially coming to an end.

"It has been an honor and a joy to work with Mindy and the entire creative team behind The Mindy Project,” Craig Erwich, Hulu’s Head of Content, said in a statement to EW.com, which was the first website to report the series was coming to a close.

“This series has been part of Hulu since we launched the service and, thanks to Mindy’s incredibly unique voice and vision, has remained one of our most popular and beloved series over the past five years."

"While we can’t wait to see what Mindy has in store for what will undoubtedly be a fantastic sixth and final season, we know The Mindy Project will live on as fans will continue to watch, discover and re-live all of the best moments from the complete series on Hulu.”

In many ways, the odds have always been stacked against this hilarious series that struggled to pull in a substantial audience on Fox.

That's why viewers were delighted about the series moving online thanks to the fine folks over at Hulu. It was the ultimate vote of confidence in the series that Hulu ordered 26 episodes for Season 4.

That season was a delight, but things went a bit off during the 14-episode Season 5. It concluded yesterday with the revelation that Mindy married Ben, and got ready to start a new life.

However, she did not look best pleased with what she had just done. Does this mean she still had feelings for Danny Castellano?

Chris Messina opted to continue on the show as a recurring character for Season 5, but there's no word yet on whether he will return for in any capacity for Season 6.
