Hocus Pocus Remake: In the Works at Disney Channel!

at .  Updated at .

The Sanderson sisters may be making a comeback, after all.

After years of rumors, a remake of Hocus Pocus is officially in the works at Disney Channel, and we are so freaking out about it.

The original movie starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as the witches who were awakened in Salem, Massachusets.

Once awoken, they put a plan in motion to have all the children in town make their way to their horrible home to absorb their youth.

The movie was filled with hilarious one-liners that helped it garner a cult following, and the movie is still talked about 24 years later.

There have been reports recently that a second installment in the franchise was in the works, but Deadline has now confirmed the new movie will be a reimagining of the original one.

Scarlett Lacey (The Royals) will pen the script for the potential movie that will take place in the present.

A brand new cast will lead the movie, but it's unclear who is in the mix to appear at this stage.

As much as we would have loved a sequel to the original movie, it seems like that will never happen, but we will be cautious about the remake.

There are so many things that could go wrong. How do we know the film will even translate well after all these years?

Will the musical numbers be the same? The witches singing is what made the original movie so awesome

Okay, TV Fanatics. What do you think of the movie idea?
