Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is coming back for Season 5 a little later than usual, and that's thanks to Marvel's Inhumans, which is currently airing its 8-part limited run on Friday nights.
The official Twitter account for the ABC series has now confirmed when, exactly, fans can expect to welcome the action series back into their lives.
"It's official - Season 5 will premiere on Friday, Dec 1," reads the tweet which was shared just before the show's New York Comic-Con panel.
The series will return with a two-hour premiere on Friday, December 1. Despite the late premiere, the show will still run for a full season of 22 episodes.
The show will have fewer breaks between the episodes, so maybe the long wait will be worth it in the long run. There is nothing more frustrating than having shows on the air sporadically.
It was revealed earlier this week that Natalia Cordova-Buckley was promoted to series regular after viewers fell in love with her in the role of Yo-Yo.
“Natalia is a powerhouse in her work and in her daily life, and she has imbued one of our favorite characters with her natural strength and humor,” said S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producers Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, and Jeffrey Bell dished to Deadline.
“Natalia was instantly a part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. family the first day she walked onto set, and we’re happy she’s now an official member of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team,” the trio added of the Mexican actor.
It was also revealed earlier this year that Nick Blood would be staging a comeback as Lance Hunter, but the details surrounding all of it were scarce.
It's unclear whether it will be a short-term comeback or something more permanent. His on-screen ex-wife, Bobbi will have a tougher time returning since Adrianne Palicki is a series regular on Fox's The Orville.
