It was around five months ago that Sophia Bush dropped the bomb that she was exiting Chicago P.D. after four seasons in the role of Erin Lindsay.
Now that the dust has settled and Chicago PD Season 5 is well underway, it has emerged that Sophia has inked a production and development deal at 20th Century Fox.
Naturally, the star took to social media to confirm the news, but there are still some fans who are speculating what really went down before her exit from the hit NBC drama series.
One fan went as far as alluding that she was let go by the producers, and that did not go down well with Bush, and she replied.
“Took me a long time and a lot of hard work to get out of that show,” the actress said. "Please don't demean my capabilities by degrading my position."
“I left because I wanted to. End of story,” she concluded.
It is surprising it took so long for Sophia to open up about it, but it seems like she's tired of reading all of the comments saying she could have been fired.
Series co-creator, Dick Wolf confirmed Sophia's exit at NBC's Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour earlier this year and revealed that the actress was not asked to leave.
"She wanted to leave," Wolf said when asked about her departure.
He was also asked about whether the show was going to be affected by the exit.
"I don't think it will have any effect at all," he said.
Sophia's first significant TV role was on WB/The CW's One Tree Hill which lasted nine seasons, before coming to a close in 2012.
Her lucrative deal with Fox means she will have a starring role in a brand new series from the studio, and she will also be expected to come up with ideas for series as part of the development side of the pact.
"Now more than ever, vital female voices need to be heard. I’m thrilled to begin developing content that inspires and excites me at 20th Century Fox TV,” said Bush when she announced the news.
