The Exorcist Season 2 Episode 4 Review: One for Sorrow

at .

Fr. Tomas and Marcus need to go home. Forget about saving Andy and his whacked out family because if there's anything about Andy, it's that he's the one who's whacked out.

It took until the very end of The Exorcist Season 2 Episode 4 to figure it all out, but, dear God, Fr. Tomas, and Marcus need to move on. Like right now.

Natural Disturbances - The Exorcist

So has Andy just lost his mind since Nicole's death? Did Grace exist at all?

The whole idea of Grace as a non-existent is scary as hell. Does this mean the demon is all about Andy? Does Marcus and Fr. Tomas have a chance at all?

While Grace always seemed strange, I never in a million years would have imagined that Grace was just a figment of Andy's imagination, because that's what she is, right?

It makes complete sense because none of the other kids have interacted with Grace, but seeing that Grace is nothing more than a figment of Andy's imagination blew my mind.

Why Grace exists is anyone's guess, but I'm going to guess that Grace came about because of Nicole's death. But questions remain about how that's even possible.

I mean, didn't anyone besides Verity notice that Andy has lost touch with reality?

Marcus Enjoying a Beer - The Exorcist Season 2 Episode 4

Who the hell was Andy twirling about in the yard? I wish we would have seen what wasn't there.

If you think about it, Grace living three stories up is odd. She's in a room that shouldn't even exist. And who puts a little girl to bed when it's still daylighted out?

The whole scene reminds me of some horror movie or something that I can't quite put my finger on. It seems Bates Motel-ish, but that's not it. I wish I could think of what Andy's crazy reminds me of. Can you guys help me out?

The best part of this whole hour was Marcus drinking his beer and contemplating about God. For a guy who has devoted himself to being in God's army, it's got to be tough for him to be in the position he's in. He knows something's not right with Andy's house, but he doesn't have the insight like Fr. Tomas does.

That would make me want to drink several beers considering he's given his whole life to saving the possessed.

I don't care what anyone thinks. Fr. Tomas may have the inside track, but Marcus is and always will be the man of the hour. Marcus can doubt himself all he wants, but the demons are most interested in him.

Tomas is easy prey. Marcus is much more challenging. He's not easily fooled. He knows something is going on, but he's not about to jump at the strangeness of it. He's going to step back and let Fr. Tomas take the lead, but in the end, we all know Marcus will take over.

Who else besides me died when Truck described Marcus as having a porn 'stache? There's no doubt Ben Daniels is hot as hell, but I would never have described his mustache as anything near porn. That was hilarious, no?

What the hell kind of home is Andy running that he has a kid who knows what the hell a porn 'stache is anyway?

Obviously, we know Andy is living in la la land. How soon before Marcus and Father Tomas realize it?

It's hard to believe that only Verity recognized something was wrong with Andy. Has no one else realized that Andy is out of his mind? It seems that Shelby might have noticed something is not all okay with the owner of the house, but he hasn't been able to figure out exactly what.

It should have been clear to all of us that Grace was not real when she wasn't sharing a room with Verity. Or when she wouldn't come downstairs and mingle with anyone else.

While it's clear now that Grace is a figment, what isn't clear is who the demon resides in.

A ghost is a ghost, if that's what Grace is, but could Grace really something more?

It's obvious that Marcus and Fr. Tomas won't be leaving anytime soon, but how soon before they realize something is not right with Andy's house? Does Marcus already know or will he rely on Fr. Tomas' feelings?

And I'm curious about Sister Delores. Is she saying that Pazuzu is still alive?

What did you think of "One for Sorrow"? Were you surprised by the Grace reveal?

The Exorcist Season 2 Episode 4 Quotes

Fr. Tomas: I was wrong about Harper.
Marcus: Maybe you were wrong about God.
Fr. Tomas: So what should we do? Stop listening?
Marcus: Do you hear anything? Anything at all? Because I certainly don't.

Every one of us knows what it's like to have our lives turned upside down. We all know what it's like to feel scared and helpless. As long as Harper is under this roof, she's family, 'cause good families only get bigger.
