The Orville will return for another voyage through the stars!
Fox has handed out an early renewal for Season 2 of the comedy series which has emerged as a solid performer for the network.
“Once again Seth has struck a powerful chord with viewers,” said Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment at Fox.
“He has delivered a series full of optimism, drama and his trademark humor. We want to thank him and the rest of the talented cast, as well as the producers and crew, for an incredible first season."
"We can’t wait to see where The Orville travels in the second.”
The Orville Season 1 still has six episodes left, but the network placing the order this early on is a huge vote of confidence.
The show is currently averaging 4.8 million viewers and a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49.
With a week of DVR viewing factored in, the show is more than doubling its live ratings.
The show takes place on titular U.S.S. Orville (ECV-197), and it finds the crew going up against crazy villains on a weekly basis as they try to navigate the world from the sky.
Seth MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J. Lee and Mark Jackson star on the series as the crew of the ship.
The Orville continues tonight with "Into the Fold" which finds the crew going to extreme measures to try and save Dr. Finn, her two sons, and Isaac after their shuttle is thrown off course.
With them landing on a moon a long way away from The Orville, will they be saved?
