The Orville Season 2: First Look Reveals "Sweetness"

at .

There is nothing but fun and adventure to be had from watching this sneak peek at The Orville Season 2.

But if you watch The Orville online, you know there is a lot more to the show than goofy hijinks and one-liners.

In fact, it can get into some fairly deep discussions as topics are introduced.

At the Comic-Con panel for The Orville, Seth MacFarlane said he considered The Orville Season 1 a tonal experiment and different stories called for different tones.

“We were trying something kind of difficult but the pleasant surprise for me was the fans and the viewers were willing to let us tell a story.”

Executive producer Brannon Braga noted the storytelling for Season 2 would differ from the first season in that it would be bold and more assertive.

While they were originally writing a series for a cast of unknowns, it helps greatly to write toward the strengths of the cast they have in place.

Speaking of strength, it looks like Alara will be using hers with a little more confidence during the upcoming season.

While she once felt a little bit skittish and worried about her abilities in comparison to others on board, maybe she has a match on the ship now who can challenger her a bit.

One thing is clear, the humor will remain intact and the space adventure not named Star Trek will continue being as much fun as the original of that franchise is to watch in the middle of the day.

Mark your calendar because you have to wait a bit until this one comes back.

December 30th after football. Ugh. Game overages. Oh well, it's worth the wait, right???
